I just installed my gear slide and I'm happy with it, great quality!
Has anyone found any bins or organizers that fit well on the slide? I use a lot of the Weathertight Totes from the Container Store, but I was wondering if anyone found something that was a great fit like the frunk bins I...
Video instructions worked well, much easier for me to follow than the printed instructions, thanks! The bracket and pre-wiring was very well made and convenient. Sure, you could DIY a little cheaper but it would take longer and require a lot of tinkering and fitting; totally worth the small...
Thanks for sharing all this! Nice rig too! I think for your baseline to be more meaningful, you might want to do a run to the park with only the truck (no RTT or trailer). I feel like using your baseline of 2300 miles isn't really comparable to that specific route you're doing with the camping...
Do you think it would be possible to order the tie rods as spare parts and field replace them? If so, what tools would be needed to get you off the trail? Obviously it would need to go to the shop after for at least an alignment, but if you're really off grid the tow rescue might be rough.
I'm also interested in tapping into this power for lighting and other camp things without keeping the AC inverter powered on via camp settings.
One experiment I've considered running is just powering something off the 12v batteries in my driveway to just see what happens. Does it fully...
I use a car dryer to blow all the water out. If you don’t want to invest and have a leaf blower that works too! And if you have a compressor is another idea.
Can't help with your RTT, but make sure you get all your accessories - cross bars, floor mats, camp speaker, flashlight, air compressor kit, first aid kit, etc -- throw it all in a UPS box if you have to. You can either resell it or give it away. Sorry about the truck and hope you're ok!
I’ll add- if it’s cold, try to garage park so your battery isn’t cold soaked. Cold batteries are inefficient (below freezing). If you’re able to plug in overnight, pre-condition the battery 20 minutes before a longer drive using your app to maximize range. Unfortunately, the battery only...
The charger rivian gives you with the truck is maybe 17 feet so in a standard garage you probably don’t need the extension cord. Nice to have but big and heavy. The two dryer andapters are more important.
Mine had that SC fixed it first try. I think they add some foam under the speaker grill. I've heard some people temporarily put foam or weatherstripping between the windshield and dash and it helped until their appointment.
Mine did sound like it was the back seat too -- likely due to the location the sound comes out the back of the seat and is muffled by the seat bottom for the driver. This takes like 2 minutes- so it's worth a shot!
