Honestly, I am hoping Rivian pulls a rabbit out of a hat and has 400 miles, 800V, 350kW charging to compete with these new entrants: BMW IX3, Mercedes GLC EQ, Volvo EX60, Lucid Earth, Hyundai/Kia/Genesis, etc…
“The 2028 Volvo EX60 Cross Country builds upon Volvo’s long history of ruggedized wagons.
All-wheel drive comes standard, with at least 503 horsepower on tap and over 300 miles of range.
The EX60 Cross Country also has something that neither the Rivian R2 nor the Tesla Model Y has: adjustable...
Honestly, if Rivian doesn’t take the opportunity to match the BMW’s charging performance with the R2 and R3 then I think they’re going to lose some sales from it. These look to be using the same 4695 battery cells so I don’t see why it wouldn’t be possible to get the 400kW charging performance...
Haven’t replied in a while, my thoughts are NACS is it is important because it will spur the charging and auto industry on to make the switch. It’s just beginning of the end for this CCS vs NACS format war. Yes, we’ll live in adapter land for a few years, but it will also future perfect proof...
Yeah definitely too much to hope for at this point. I do hope they put in a high voltage system in the R2, and 3. I know RJ said they probably wouldn’t but it would really future proof them for long term and get charging down to 15-18 mins for 0-80%
Shouldn’t have that issue since it is based on a 450-500 V architecture like Teslas, vs the 650-800 V Hyundai have. Also Tesla superchargers V4 is rated up to 1000 V and I believe over 600 amps
I don’t like the fact that he’s not transparent about his channel’s resources (or should I say his dad’s resources) to buy $100-200k plus vehicles it seems like every other week. His family seems very well off, and kind of snobby.
I was very put off when he jumped the line to get his pre price...
I am glad I found this thread. I am having the front compressor replaced because the truck was on the tires on the left side and almost on it on the right after sitting for two days. I am 7k close to being out of warranty tool
Key info:
“The Biden administration said on Monday that it would lend $6 billion to help Rivian build an electric car factory in Georgia, part of an effort to lock in Democratic climate policies before President-elect Donald J. Trump takes office…The loan agreement will be binding once the...
Let’s hope they finalize it before Elon tries to pull his usual shenanigans.
I already see the spin happening with the fan boys acting like they didn’t get any government incentives to build their company.
Hey everyone, I thought I would share some pictures from my recent trip to the Rivian service center. My vehicle came in late Friday evening and I’m taking delivery Wednesday, but I was able to look over everything before I take delivery because we were too excited to wait! Here’s some pictures...
Honestly, that was kind of a painful interview to listen to. The guy was very scattered in his conversational approach and kept interrupting. Not my favorite with RJ
