Use hyperbole all you want, installed my own panels, got 55% back credit wise, already paid for themselves. CCS standard supports bidirectional charging, why wouldn’t I want something that only brings extra value? Seems stupid to wish otherwise.
Solar panels, where are you getting gas in a crisis? I don’t need to be humanitarian if I’m practical. Let me know when your fuel refinery is running.
Who cares why people want this? A generator is loud and annoying to setup. Can’t run long without being refilled. Rivian can power a house for like 3 days and thats not limiting what you’re using. Bidirectional can power accessories, an rv, or charge a friend in need, or a motorcycle. Could even...
No - they've said a few times that if you get rock sliders it basically replaces the plastic panels entirely, so you can just keep them safely stored somewhere.
Let me spell it out simple, you are hard focusing on a single point of inefficiency, and there are 1000s(I don't see you guys referencing the increase in efficiencies out of the drivetrain, that will save money - that's what's called an example). I fully expect it will improve, like Tesla did...
You could argue LITERALLY anything on that ground though. "Solar roof isn't worth it because it barely powers the AC" but if you put it on a million cars it's a HUGE amount of solar power benefit. Thus my comparison to ICE, and literally any other aspect of the truck or any vehicle. You could...
I think if we could all see the sensors in the vehicle that'd probably have at least the cause of frunk solved through crowd sourcing. I don't think "144$ a year(my math for my area not counting my solar power) " is that bad tbh(re: 5% in 48 hours), you lose a lot more in ICE cars idling, etc...
So we have ICE as well but almost never drive, all trips we take are in the rivian, and the "ICE" isn't to be safe or have a fallback but simply because we have it.
Yeah I’ve been preaching that RJ said they’d work at the first drive event in 2021 but that’s old at this point, was nice for clarification as you said.
I like the R1t ride much more than the model x. I do think there is somet tweaking to be done though, at certain speeds I think the suspension is a bit too tight over larger bumps. They can definitely adjust this - it's just a matter of priority. I'm envisioning eventually a comfort mode. Right...
