EVERY time I talk to my father in-law he asks when my R1T is coming. Today I had to tell him at least another 6 months, but likely longer. He's going to get a Lightning.
This is the biggest logistical miss for me. Unless their strategy changed fairly late, I think they knew all along waiting for service centers was the plan. And it is much harder to blame service center construction delays on covid. Yes yes I know some places shut down, but in others (Atlanta)...
I actually just checked my account to see if it was already live. We all know Customer Service is usually the very last to know of any meaningful changes to customer service.
Don't mean to hijack the thread, but brief aside:
I just checked the Atlanta Permitting site and there are several reviews not yet completed (electrical, plumbing, building plan, etc.).
We are now ~4 months from when they signed the long term lease and haven't even started construction yet. I...
Have we seen this info about rivian spaces? Specifically the outposts and preserves?
What are Rivian spaces?
Our experience spaces are a collection of permanent and temporary spaces, and open lands intended to inspire and enable people to explore the outdoors. Designed as an interconnected...
Wife was a manager at a very large tech company for years. On the occasion she wanted to fire someone she had to dot every i, etc. EVERY single instance of malfeasance / incompetence was recorded in detail. Even with pretty egregious cases she had to go through HR and the employee was put on a...
I think that's an unfair comparison. For whatever reason Elon has gotten a pass on what would be "normal" corporate norms. Tesla is valued far beyond what normal financial metrics should dictate. I would never assume similar treatment for RJ and Rivian. Also, for all intents and purposes they...
As of 2 hours ago I was still considering buying shares. That is no longer the case. I really do hope Rivian survives and look forward to attempting to complete a purchase of both an R1T and R1S at some point in the next ?2?? years.
However, as many have said the market doesn't tolerate...
For reference Rivian registered over a year ago in georgia and just yesterday filed for permits for their service center reno. Just saying temper your expectations...
Finally saw a building permit for the Atlanta site go live. It is dated today. Permit does mention a renovation for "car repair service."
I can't figure out how to download the attachments that were submitted with the permit. Maybe someone else can.
My biggest question is if it is possible to see a car in several colors, IN PERSON, before finalizing? Because I don't believe there are any true competitor vehicles, while a test drive would be nice, I don't need it.
I admit I picked an income% out of thin air. My point was that obviously this is not a car everyone can afford (I'll let you decide if that is good or bad).
Where I live for an 80k R1T I'm looking at 90k when you tack on taxes, insurance, etc. That's before you've even paid for upkeep...
