Adding in case anyone is wondering. I picked up a Microcenter USB Type C 3.1 256GB stick. ($19 via Amazon, less at Microcenter) and it works perfectly fine with the new dash cam software. Plugged in, formatted, passed speed test...
Can’t speak to the Y, but on the X it’s because of how the hitch connects. Instead of sliding into the receiver tube, it’s grabbed on vertically with the ball bearings. You like it up and slam it in for it to lock into place.
And the Lightning weighs 6000lbs…
The R1T is 7180lbs according to CAT scales. That’s 22” wheels, spare tire kit, powered tonneau, roof racks, all weather mats, and 250lbs of passenger that was filled with mostly bacon.
100% on the Aero. I get ~1.0-1.3mi/kWh on mine towing (~6500lbs) at 60-70mph. I'm more surprised at the .8mi/kWh at 50mph. I would have expected around 1.0 at 50 with that trailer.
Ok so I haven't crashed tested my own truck yet...I'll put that on my things to do...but I call BS on their testing methods.
Since I have a Lightning I just looked up the ratings there and I can confidently say their seat belt reminders are not "Poor". It is single handedly the most annoying...
All joking aside, I'm amazed at how realistic these are. The proportions, the color, even the tonneau doesn't work!
(*Disclaimer..mine has not broken....yet)
I don't put mine in anything special. I hop out, lock it, then close the app - fully close not background close - to ensure PAAK doesn't trigger the truck.
It’s not just the battery. From what I can tell the modem, the perimeter sensors, even the compressors shut off.
If I leave the car for 3-5 days it “starts” right up.
A week in, and it’s a little slow but I’m going in less than a minute.
Go for 3 weeks and the car will barely respond to app...
Every time you move the truck, you bring it out of deep sleep. If you’re moving it once a week, your truck isn’t going into the deepest state.
I’ve been testing mine since I got my new Lightning and my R1T sat for 3+ weeks and lost less than 20%, most of it in the first week. Week 2 and 3 saw...
I made a couple of snarky comments but decided to modify the post..hopefully this helps.
The way the truck works is there are onboard inverters. Inverters are not 100% efficient. I don't know what the efficiency rates of the two EVs is, but you're going to lose energy in the conversion from...
The GoM with the trailer is crap. I started with 99 miles on the GoM. Almost 40 miles in, I still had 95 miles on the GoM. I went over 100 miles 70mph and averaged 1.7mi/kWh with it.
That’s with a 25’ HiLo trailer, 6300lbs in tow. For comparison, my lifetime average is 1.9mi/kWh in the...
It’s best not to quote the media. The 2200 is from a SR and the towing capacity is 10,000 with the max tow.
Here’s the facts.
Ford F-150 Lightning ER door plate gives 1687lbs of payload.
On CAT scales my R1T is 3700/3480 total of 7180lbs.
On CAT scales my Lightning is 3540/3600 total of...
Is that new? I never caught into Apple Maps due to it being terrible when it first launched.
I was a heavy google maps user but went to Waze for the notifications.
Hopefully this means the camera will also be available when not towing but tailgate is down.
As for the towing update, I really hope they implement some of the things available on the Lightning - Drivers+ usage while towing, adjustment of blind spot detection for trailer profile/length, and...
