Your graph just confirms my belief that EV charging on the road really doesn't save a whole lot. When I was making a trip I noticed the gas price was around $4.xx. As you quoted only when you charge at home (specially with solar installed like at my house) it makes big difference.
$899.37. How does this amount compared to gas cars?
One positive thing I observed was that the number of Rivian chargers available along the Fwy 5. As long as I stayed on Fwy 5 (California) I didn't have to go to other EV chargers. The Rivian charger was definitely cheaper and more...
It's good to hear that the Rivian app/nav works well. This is a long road trip and I really don't want to do lvl 2 charging and hopefully I won't run into a situation that requires lvl 2 charging.
I am sorry for the confusion. My trip is actually from LA - Vancouver using my R1T large pack with dark 20 inch rim. My itinerary is LA - Salinas - Big Sur - SF - Napa Valley - Tahoe Vista - Eureka, CA - Redwood NP - Mt. Rainier NP - Vancouver. I was worried about the Lake Tahoe - Eureka...
Hi, I am going from Lake Tahoe to Eureka and I tried to look for chargers using PlugShare app. All I can find is some lvl 1/2 charging near hotel or some department store. Is there any fast charging available on that route? Do you have any suggestions on where to stop and charge...
I heard many good things about ABRP here in this forum so I went to https://abetterrouteplanner.com/ site to check it out. The first thing it asks me is to join the premium plan. Is this worth the upgrade? If it is how much is it in dollar? I am not even sure if they accept dollar currency...
Among all the updates Rivian made in the past I welcome this update the most. Now I can watch Youtube (just like my Tesla) while I am charging my R1T. Good Job Rivian!
I would love to have Tesla FSD on Rivian. I currently drive Model S with FSD and their latest update nailed it. I now use FSD on 90% time and never disappoints. It drives seamlessly in busy LA downtown streets. However I don't think Rivian will go for it. I mean they don't even want to...
Rivian really needs to make the repair work and cost cheaper. Even how cute and awesome R2/R3 will be they won't go mainstream if the repair cost is high.
I don't know what HV is. For 7 years of Model S ownership only thing I did was replacing 4 tires. I didn't even know there was 12V battery until I started to read this Rivian forum.
OK. Nice justification. I don't have good scientific understanding of how EV works like you but all I know is that I've driven Tesla for almost 7 years and KIA EV for 3 years and 12V battery issue never happened to me. Rivian needs to do the same here. Don't explain why it fails just make it...
I am sorry to you all that I haven't responded. I was away for a couple of days. My itinerary is like this: Los Angeles -> Bishop -> Lake Tahoe -> Reno -> Chester, CA (Lassen Volcanic NP) -> Redding -> Portland -> Port Angeles -> British Columbia (by ferry) -> Vancouber -> Mt. Rainier ->...
We are planning on a long road trip with our R1T in June and I haven't received the Rivian charge adaptor and I don't think I will be getting one soon. So what is my option? Should I just stick with RAN, EVGO, ChargePoint, etc? Or should I buy charge adaptor to use Tesla supercharger? I do...
I don't blame him for double posting. In fact he should let the world know about this kind of problem. This is the only way for big company to listen and be willing to work with us. I think Rivian makes innovative greatly engineered cars but unless they lower the repair cost they won't go...
Go ahead and give him your honest (bad) review when Rivian send you the survey email. This survey is what the company uses for employee performance review. This is how to weed out unwilling, inadequate employees from the company.
