Owned a V1 R1T, have a preorder in for an R2. Presently drive an Ioniq 5N. There are some quirks and the SW is nowhere near Rivian’s, but, dang, this is a stupidly fun car. Tons of room, very fast (second to the as yet unseen Quad https://www.motortrend.com/features/fastest-suvs/ ), but it’s...
The Vampire drain was one of my least favorite things about my Gen1 R1T. The true miles / kWh was just way lower than the dash as it ignored the relatively significant losses.
Just left our Ioniq 5N for 10 days and its lost effectively nothing (no Gear Guard of course, but I did check it...
I’m 11 months into owning an Ioniq 5 Limited. For an a to be thing, it’s fantastic. Smooth as could be. Tons of space. Good audio (sound). Actually fun to drive.
We thankfully use CarPlay. As the software is just dismal. It is quintessential shipping your org chart. It is so obvious...
Question out of ignorance - why would you want to trade in against a lease (or do a large cap cost reduction)? Isn’t there a risk of a total loss on the vehicle and then you losing all you paid ahead?
And aside - That Rivian still doesn’t see that there is an egress / ingress issue with these trucks and many normal people is beyond me. When I had my R1T and my Bronco Raptor, that is a good bit taller, but has rails and steps, folks of many non 6’ sizes struggled to get in and out of the...
Can you see it? Harbor freight has little reacher things that allow your go down and watch stuff like that. They also have magnetized ones. Ask me how I know… not in the R1S, but I’ve dropped things places. I would just watch where you are reaching though… electricity is no joke.
I hope your electricity is cheap as that will be a lot of Juice to make that run 3x week. We didn’t often see that much over 2M/kW with our 22 Quad Large no matter how I drove it.
Driving an Ioniq 5 now and wow, night and day cost wise between a 2M/kW and a 3.6+ car. I loved the Riv, but it...
I am vary against extra warranties and generally prefer to self insure. But I actually bought a tire and wheel warranty for a 911 a while back. It cost the same as a discount set of tires (unmounted). Dang did I make money on that one. That car picked up nails in the rears like it was it's...
Any more feedback on suspension noise from your Gen2? I sold my Gen1 and miss it. So great, except the suspension noise. Would love to get back in one, but no way I’m coming back if that front end still sounds like a clapped out high school kids Buick.
Thanks!
Sounds amazing, and I love the push to make some numbers, but dang - delivery in less than two weeks is aggressive. Does that *ever* really happen? It definitely didn’t with my R1T.
We have a Milwaukee. Strong mower. Cuts our entire lawn in one charge (of both batteries that charge at the same time ina dual charger). I have other car stuff that is Milwaukee (impacts and such) so made sense to me. Love it. Easy, fast, way quieter than my old gas mower (but NOT silent)...
Our Bronco Raptor with 37’s in significantly easier to climb up into that our R1T quad was, no matter what setting we tried. In my experience this is one of the most significant every day limitations to these vehicles. This is painful to say the least for folks < 5’6” or with any mobility...
Our R1T is long gone, but our 2023 Ioniq 5 Limited just lost 1% over 12 days.
Incidentally it had effectively put itself to sleep and was not reachable by the Hyundai app over the latter half of that period and I was a little worried I’d come back to a dead 12V…. Thankfully, all good.
This.
My truck was telling me 2.1 a 2.3 (quad large T), but the reality was it was burning up so many KwH in vampire drain that it was way below 2. With our expensive juice in Mass, this was a costly truck to run. I never saw what Rivian claimed. Conversely our AWD limited Ioniq 5 is always...
I owned a car for near a year before the carfax came back with a small accident. It was well repaired and I’d missed it. It cost me a few grand when I later sold it. Live and learn.
I now own a paint meter and a good detailing light. Are they perfect? No, but you’d be amazed how many cars...
