For $80k I don’t think you should have to sacrifice good windshields for those features. In fact, it needs better glass of it’s going to be sold as an off-road adventure vehicle, given that it should see a lot of gravel and dirt.
I agree with this. I believe a Rivian after price increase is absolutely worth $9k more than, say, an F150L Lariat.
I cannot necessarily say that it’s worth $16.5k more than the F150L Lariat, given that the extra money saved is worth exactly the cost of the hardware and installation of V2H...
I think plenty of us are here because we gave up on Tesla over promising a long time ago and saw a real product being built and sold by Rivian. I’d venture to guess close to half of us have owned/own a Tesla and are ready to move on.
MT should’ve compared the F150 Lightning to the F150 ICE truck, then compared the R1T to something like a Jeep Gladiator. But since that would prove EV’s are better for everything except long range trips, then they wouldn’t want to bite the ICE hand that feeds them.

I wonder if it’s reading exterior surface temp instead of air temp? As long as the interior temp reading is fairly accurate, I guess it’s not a big deal. I got that on my Tesla a lot, initially 8-10 degrees overestimation of the exterior temperature.
What’s worse is some of these RAN waypoints are located in towns/cities with no confirmed Rivian deliveries. Like, I get that it’s an investment in the future, but why not focus on getting some trucks to the people closest to them?
Right, but interest rates will be getting upward corrections until inflation levels out, meaning double digits are not only possible next year, but likely.
