My wife would like to use her soon to be R2 for car camping the first week in July. I told her - hmmmmmm that seems
I really enjoyed his video on the R2. Actually watched it twice, 2nd time with my wife and that convinced her to trade in her MachE
You're starting to change my mind to 21"! I kind of think the AS 21's will be ok for our purposes (which is no off-road - have an R1T for that). Just want to have something reasonable in the snow. The AS Goodyears on the Lightning were pretty good.
Better range is a plus, given this is going...
Mach-E has all seasons. I'm thinking more like the stock 21's coming with the R2. The Mach-E was not great in pretty much any snow, based on my experience.
I feel like the 20's with the AT's are going to be the better bet for me with R2. Then maybe different tires at some point - better in...
I'm back to debating this a little (in my own mind).... I wish that one of the three models they had at the ATL block party would have had the 21". Would have been nice to see in person.
We won't be off roading, but my R1T has the 20" AT tires, so could if we wanted to, as we have a capable...
Agree 100%. I was also at the ATL block party - yesterday. I thought the seats were nicer than my '23 R1T, but of course sitting in them for 60 seconds is very different than driving - so we'll see. Tech was great. Can't wait for our number to come up and trade in the MachE! As an aside, the R2...
Well, as you know - large and heavy. Just seems like a hassle. That said, if someone wants it shipped and can arrange shipping - happy to drop off at UPS or Fed Ex.. I guess they will package it up.
Otherwise, I imagine at some point - someone local will want it. Just needs to be listed...
A lightly used cover that was included with my 2023 R1T when I purchased last June from the original owner. I used it a couple of times and got the power tonneau retrofit last fall.
I'm in the Rochester, NY area and this will be local pickup only.
Thanks!
Interesting.... I wonder if it's more paperwork or something for a manufacturer to have their vehicles at 6000 lbs+. I mean, seems like it opens up more prospects for your vehicles if you hit that 6K GVWR.
That's pretty similar to our MachE GT that ended up with a GVWR of 5,980 lbs (20 lbs short..) with a curb weight of 4,993 lbs. So it could go either way.... GVWR and how it is calculated is a bit of a mystery to me.
If that's the case it will be close. R1S is 8,532 lbs, so that would make an R2 - 6,532 lbs, less whatever they might calculate for the weight of two passengers (5 vs 7) and less allowable cargo.
Does that mean you are trading out the MachE for an R2? That's what I'm hoping we do, but the MachE is her primary driver and not sure she'll want to give it up...
