  1. How to use your Rivian as a Power Bank (safe way)

Probably the same team that engineered the wireless charging pad twice and it still sucks.
  2. Train Crossing Arm hit my car

I stand corrected then. Maybe you'll luck out with paint transfer and some type of PDR fix if you go that direction.
  3. Train Crossing Arm hit my car

Nah just like when a red light turns green so you hammer it and t-bone someone. I'd love to see the footage of the malfunction...
  4. If the R2 Launch Edition price is $54,999

Fair point but at least Land Rover & Jeep on pavement are pretty decent with their air suspension (I had a 2015 JGC with air suspension). Gen 1 R1S with 20's has awful suspension on bumpy NY roads. It was designed for offroad and absolutely feels like it despite the software tweaks. Haven't...
  5. If the R2 Launch Edition price is $54,999

How many offroad now other than some of the original R1T crowd? 2-4% at most? It's capable offroad but the brand turned into a mall crawl vehicle despite the PR spin.
  6. Rival: 2026 BMW iX3 reviews are impressive... R2 has its work cut out

I just drove the X3 rental which is a hybrid that got 30 mpg at 80+mph for a 4+ hour round trip to Savannah. It was pretty impressive and I enjoyed the electronics on it (especially HUD). Driver assistance was rock solid except for having to keep my hands on the wheel a lot. I think BMW is...
  7. How quickly will R2 be built

I reserved 2 on Day 1 and will unlikely use either of them. I'm sure there are a ton of people wanting it but depending on price, people may pass on the launch edition and wait for the base version.
  8. From an EV9 to an R1S – My Experience & Opinions

Ty! Saw that as well but still too slow to perform with the suspension so I'll stick with sport mode. I have no problem jumping in and out but sick of passengers complaining about it.
  9. R2 Lease Available at Launch (Report)

    And insane depreciation...
  10. From an EV9 to an R1S – My Experience & Opinions

On Long Island where I am it seems like so many people do not have home charging and are constantly at Tesla Superchargers. During the recent cold snap, there were endless lines waiting for chargers and I was so thankful for having mine installed at my home years ago. I started out having to...
  11. What did they do to ABRP?!?

Same, use Gemini for everything and it amazes me how smart it really is. My pinned chats to reference past conversations is so awesome. I recently started using it to find discount codes on various sites as well. Hoping for Rivian integration here shortly because I disabled Alexa day 1 years ago.
  12. From an EV9 to an R1S – My Experience & Opinions

Until you bring them into the SC and they say take them off prior to service. I don't know why Rivian doesn't just sell and support them because every person who gets in my R1S complains about entry/exit. I have to literally put it in sport lowest as I'm approaching a parking spot to make it...
  13. Doug DeMuro Can't Stop Praising R2

I'd bet the number of people who take R1 offroad now is less than 5% and that's being generous. New R1 buyers are Tesla defectors or want something different, not offroaders like Gen1 R1T buyers. They've run out of people willing to plunk down $100k for a truck and need R2 going forward. ix3...
  14. Mobile service lied to me

Happened with my sister's Tesla by a mobile tech saying they couldn't rotate the tires because they're bald. She brought it to the Tesla SC and they said nope you're fine. I've had Rivian mobile techs replace my back windshield wiper because I knew it would break if I did it. They broke it...
  15. 2026.03 Update Pushed! Now Installing

Never drove a dual but for that reason alone I wouldn't get one. I also heard that it puts the suspension in auto every single time you drive and that would be a deal-breaker for me as well. I wonder how many people know those limitations when buying one?
  16. 2026.03 Update Pushed! Now Installing

Gen1 here but I don't tihink they'll ever catch Tesla in any aspect. 2020-2021 M3 with HW3 FSD is probably better than what Gen2 can do now. I recently drove a 2024 M3 with FSD and it was so awesome and smooth. I'd happily pay $100 a month for the FSD that Tesla offers.
  17. Meridian audio

Had a R1T loaner with it once and was blown away vs my R1S with elevation. Sure it's a smaller interior but was sad to hand it back to them. They definitely got rid of it to save on costs.
  18. Is it possible to save Drive mode overrides?

That's wild and never knew that. I'd never get a dual because of the supposed disconnect thunk noise but I'd have to try it IRL to verify. The auto alone would definitely keep me from choosing that model but I'm in a Gen 1 even with 20's where it drives like crap in anything but standard.
  19. Tesla kills Autopilot on new cars - Forces users to subscribe to FSD

I'd happily pay a subscription to make my Gen1 more capable knowing that an old 2020 cheap Tesla with FSD is far better. I recently drove a 2024 M3 with FSD and it blew my mind with door to door navigation. I haven't driven a Gen2 to compare but I'm assuming it is nowhere near what FSD can do...
  20. What makes Rivian unique?

I don't get the luxury part at all on a Gen 1. I always ask myself what is premium on my Gen 1 and I can't think of anything. Sure it looks good but luxury? No way. Suspension is terrible on the R1S, charging is slow, infotainment screen decent graphics but lags, cameras are absymal with weak...
