I take it you mean the main battery and not the LVs. I don't know how that could occur while the vehicle is stationary, but I'm no battery / electrical engineer so I'm sure anything is possible. If that's the case, I guess I could take a glass half-full view and say that I'm back to "fresh"...
TLDR:
Yes - this will be a rant, but also to see if anyone might have insight on this issue. 2022 R1T, parked at airport garage (covered) for weeklong trip. Went to bed one night seeing 160 miles range remaining only to wake up the next day with an alert on my phone that the truck is at 0% / 0...
Thanks for the reply (and love the Compass Yellow which I wasn't able to get as Rivian discontinued the Compass Yellow / Forest Edge combo while I was waiting for delivery).
I tried all the above but didn't correct it. SC said they did a "reset" a few days ago when I brought it in (whatever...
Several weeks ago when planning a route in my R1T, I noticed that the arrival range estimate was gone. Where normally you would see the estimate of how much available battery capacity you would have at the end of the route was replaced with a grey hatched oval.
I had an open ticket at the time...
Yep - I'm in the same camp. Lost the steering wheel button garage door opener 2 upgrades ago (the one prior to the Halloween update) and no amount of resets has restored it. Calling Rivian support was less than helpful (granted this wasn't with a tech) who said that can be set from within...
I guess third time was the charm so no lemon. They were able to properly diagnose the problem instead of kicking the tires and saying it looks good. It's been a year since getting the truck repaired without the problem recurring. It ended up being the stability control module which was errantly...
Since the upgrade, my satellite view went from decent to a blurry mess. I'm not tethered (which don't understand why that would make a difference given we're all on Connect+ trial). I thought perhaps it would need to recache the images so tried sitting in the vehicle in a parking lot for some...
This is one of those "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" situations. I, for one, am happy to have the PTC, even though my 2022 R1T was delivered with an inoperable cover. Since getting the replacement PTC, I've used it actively a couple times a month without issue and it's been very...
I got my vehicle back with an operating PTC after a few days at the SC. Not sure why it took so long (I had a few other items on my service list and not all were corrected due to lack of parts). So far so good, but have to say that the sounds it makes doesn't instill a lot of confidence, though...
I'll end mine here -
I get it and happy to see that you're taking these steps. However, to get to renewables at present requires a lot of legacy energy. The mining of the lithium for the batteries, the manufacture of all the components of the vehicle, let alone the solar panels, the RAN...
Like most things, this is not "A or B" but "A and B". We still need fossil fuel production for many reasons including for our Rivians ("vegan leather", tires which wear more quickly than ICE vehicles, plastics) and given the immaturity of most renewables (whether or not you put nuclear in that...
Finally got my R1T back today. Technically it was ready on Saturday but I was out of town and only picked it up this evening.
Diagnosis- this time it appears the Orlando Service Center actually did a diagnosis (compared to last time the Nashville/Franklin service center basically said they...
Quick update - vehicle at Service Center since 30 May and I did get a call today (01 June) to say they are working on diagnosing, but not much more. I did state that I do not intend on accepting the vehicle back unless I get a full run down on root-cause analysis and the exact actions that were...
That's my lay-person assessment too, but if it were that simple:
1) That should have been an easy fix the first time, and
2) why does the vehicle seem to work fine for a while after it goes to sleep (no errors when getting into drive) but a hard reset after an error didn't clear the issue.
A...
Not to my knowledge. I forced a log capture before a hard reset (which I think of as a full reboot rather than a reset as all my configs are kept such as driver list, garage door setup, etc).
Agree about getting more info, but getting someone to provide it is the challenge.
As for loaner, standard enterprise car rental. I ended up getting a Tacoma as I needed a pickup. Wish they provided a Rivian loaner, especially now that they're catching up with orders.
Will provide updates as...
Thanks for the quick response. I'm really hoping this gets addressed but I will need more than "we really got it fixed this time". I don't think I'm going to be confident for anything more than a trip to the grocery store for a while when I get it back.
Anyone have a "Brake System Malfunction" causing their R1T/S to go into limp mode?
TL/DR version:
Couple of weeks ago, my R1T showed a "Brake System Malfunction" on a road trip. Was presumably fixed and returned to me and after a couple of days, the same issue came back. This error causes the...
