Towing is the NEMESIS of electric vehicles. Not only does the vehicles range get HAMMERED, but virtually all current charging infrastructure/spots doesn't physically allow to charge with a trailer attached.
Disconnect a trailer half a dozen times to charge and you'll never tow again.
Last report I read, electric vehicles are around 1/10th as likely to catch on fire as an ICE vehicle. With the way the world is going, I'd take the vehicle protection versus the tiny chance I couldn't get out of the vehicle AND it's on fire.
I am one of the lowest number pre-order holders for a CT, and even though I only pre-ordered an R1S early this summer, I think I may get the R1S sooner!
Things I love about the Cybertruck:
1. Stainless steel that is extremely hard to dent.
2. No paint to take care of with washing and waxing...
I would never get another ICE. I would keep my Model Y performance and keep my Cybertruck reservations, which I still am until Rivian proves it can be a sustainable business.
Huge difference:
1. A car engine running goes through fuel pretty quick; ie: costly.
2. Added pollution.
3. Running car is easier to steal.
4. Running car is a larger target.
5. Carbon monoxide poisoning risk.
6. Wear and tear on many internal combustion engine systems.
