Tough one. Definitely a good time to IPO an EV company valuation wise. Even though it may not be the best time for Rivian specific news It's probably better to get some money while the market is hot.
Oh man, so if October is now February is end of Spring now October 2022 for LE delivery completion? Based on how this is going we likely haven’t seen the end of the delays either. I clearly need to adjust my expectations substantially, since I probably have 12 months to wait for something I...
One more interesting thing, page 170 states " all U.S.-based full-time employees were or are expected to be invited to participate, we provide the employees, including our NEOs, an opportunity to purchase early production R1T Launch Edition and R1S Launch Edition vehicles and pay a cash subsidy...
I'm not an expert, but I do believe they are expected to release info that is as accurate as possible with the knowledge they have and not just be way conservative. Large over-estimates and under-estimates would be misleading and would open them up to liability.
Looks like up to 7% of the IPO is being set aside for the DSP program (pre-order customers). That is potentially 9M shares. Sounds like there will be the opportunity to buy in large if you want to.
Edit: looks like employees are included in the DSP program as well. Still that is over $500M...
Looks great and good planning. I'm working on scheduling a prewire for the Rivian charger, as I would like to have the full 11.5kw charging rate. The lead time is nuts for electrical work! There is even a back order on the correct breaker for my panel I'm told. I guess I'll have to figure out...
Not sure why people would want the R1T over the R1S unless you were going to utilize the bed for carrying things up to the payload limit of the truck. The bed is clearly designed to be large enough to carry things like a pallet, plywood or a quad.
So far almost every detail about the R1T has me super excited and I'm very likely to go forward with my purchase. I think I'm down to one detail that I really need to better understand that could end up being a deal breaker. The gooseneck tailgate extends about 30" beyond the end of the bed...
I just hope the Rivian employees aren't distracted by this. When your company IPO's it can be a huge distraction. I guarantee you the employees that currently own stock are also sifting through this, but obviously focusing on different parts than we are. I'm guessing all work at Rivian ground...
I actually appreciated the article as a Bloomberg subscriber and trader. The part comparing the base price of the F-150 to the Rivian was definitely disingenuous as mentioned above. As for the rest of the article, I feel she is writing to the average Bloomberg news subscriber. What they...
Bingo!
Once confirmed dates for delivery start coming in for forum members I think it’s go time and I’ll let myself start getting excited. Until then my expectation is going to be end of Spring.
Agreed. Our employees get first access to every new product we make. It's not a freebie, just first access. Impossible to keep good people otherwise these days. People want to work at companies that make or do things they love. I'm only disappointed as I can't wait to see the first person...
So deliveries have started, though maybe they don't qualify in everyone's book. None the less, we have resalable, street legal, non dealer VIN vehicles that some amount of money was paid to acquire out there. As I predicted before, employees would be the first deliveries and I expect they will...
As a small business owner I can tell you it's almost impossible to hire COMPETENT talent right now. If I go to work for Rivian I would assume I'm moved right to the top of the list if I do want a new R1T.
