Seems like most, if not all, of the recent customer deliveries have the black interiors. I'm wondering if Rivian is having trouble getting the two other interior vegan leather materials for the FE configs.
After watching videos from "Ted Actually Talks" when he's driving with his dog in the gear tunnel, I got to thinking about putting pets in the tunnel and whether or not it's a good idea. What do you think??
I'm trying to think of why it WOULDN'T be a good idea, as long as they have access to...
This is a question aimed at experienced overlanders. I'm sure you know how airing down impacts range on ICE rigs, right? Do you have an idea of average-percent impact on ICE mileage/range that might give us an initial idea of how it would impact a Rivian??
I'm glad to see a number of people embracing the Gear Guard little thingy, not because I like it, but because I'm more on the side of in the big scheme of things it really doesn't matter to me. But, to be honest, my first impression was "Ugh--I don't like it." I don't know why I don't like it...
Today is 10/6/21:
Since I have way too much time on my hands, and I'm going out of my mind waiting, ? I got to wondering how many Launch Edition pre-orders would need to be contacted per day to accomplish Guide Contacts of LEs by Thanksgiving. ?
Using a Poll I conducted in this group back on...
Looking through the manual, I don't see regen paddles on the back side of the steering wheel like I have on my Bolt. I also don't see the mention of "one-pedal driving", which I also have on my Bolt. I will miss both of those features tremendously!!! :crying: All you Bolt owners out there know...
Has anyone in this group been on the section of the Trans American Trail that goes through OR, No. CA, No. NV??
Might be a fun PNW Riviot trip. Sort of a retrace where the Motor Trend/Rivian group went. They might be able to tell us where they charged along the way.
Maybe just the OR CA...
From what I can tell, it's been awhile since we've done a basic pre-order survey in this group. Might be interesting to see where things are at now, since a lot has change since our early surveys. There are a number of new people in the forum, too.
Any recommendations for portable refrigerators to use in the Rivians?
AND, is there a 12V or 120V outlet in the front trunk--haven't been able to find info on that.
It looks like most, if not all, of us are anxious to try out the Tank Turn feature of the Rivians. Yet, RJ said this will NOT BE AVAILABLE AT THE TIME OF LAUNCH and will happen as a software update in the future. He said they will have to put in restrictions as to where you can use this feature...
I thought this was an interesting discussion about the differences between EV and ICE towing. It helped me better understand why towing and roof-top cargo impacts an EV more than an ICE.
I thought this nicely done video might be helpful for those new to EVs and those accustom to using Super chargers & DCFC.
This is what it's "really like" to travel electric in places where DCFC is not available. Until there are DCFCers on every corner, like gas stations now, you will need to...
Heard on "Rivian Automotive Fans FB" page that a couple more people were contacted by Guides yesterday. One in Austin, TX (config. unknown at present) and another from Issaquah, WA Nov 28 2018 R1T LE Black on Black.
I have thought about this ever since I got my Bolt. Opportunity awaits you younger folks! I'd look into doing this myself if I wasn't at retirement age.
Elon is right on target, yet again. There is so much money to be made here as EV adoption soars.
I'm wondering how much of an impact the Amazon Van production is having on when we'll get our R1T or R1S. Considering the current battery and chip supply shortages, it has to be slowing production down for our vehicles, if Rivian is building the vans now...right? It was the first concern I had...
This was a really good discussion of the future of EV charging (6/27/21). If the Rivian will be your first experience with EV charging, this may give you a good idea of what you will be dealing with on road trips. If you already own an EV and travel very much, you will benefit from the ideas...
In an attempt to talk about something other than our frustration about contacts, delivery dates, etc., let's see how many of you ordering the Camp Kitchen have experience/s with induction cooking.
I've been cooking with induction for at least 4-5 years and absolutely love it! I go nuts now...
Geezzz...Ford sure is open to letting people see EVERYTHING inside and out of the Lightning. Even let people play around inside. This was posted on June 6, 2021. Sure wish Rivian would allow the same. Maybe SOON!??
This guy really goes through the Lightning. I like it...like it a lot.
