  1. Took delivery of R1S months early and we are so... lucky.

Thanks! Guess I'll have to switch to all purpose mode. I would have assumed that it just becomes a 2wd vehicle like most other cars out there. I learned something today.
  2. Took delivery of R1S months early and we are so... lucky.

Can you please expand on that comment regarding "not a good choice for day to day driving"? I'm genuinely curious as I mainly drive in conserve mode. Is this a manufacturer recommendation? Is your only concern disproportionate tire wear for the front relative to rear? Or are there other reasons...
  3. In what world are these types of paint issues acceptable on new R1S?

I'm sure these issues ARE noticed at both the factory and SC. They're probably banking on most people taking delivery and not noticing any of these issues for a long time.
  4. RJ Hint's there may be a demand problem.....

Cuz they're lying about filling orders in 1-4 months.
  5. ? Estimated Delivery Date Window is LIVE! What’s Yours?! ?

I recently preordered (Sept 2022). I was waiting to see if they'd actually ever deliver the R1S. Once they started delivering I decided to reserve. Was hoping that I'd be able to get the car late 2023 but it doesn't look like that will be happening. I didn't really need the car, but if it's not...
  6. Anyone using "Hummer / G-Wagon Tax Loophole" to write off their Rivian? [6000 Pound Vehicle Tax Deduction]

Part 1 is incorrect. It does not have to be titled to the business. I have an S Corp and vehicles are under my own name. However the funds to pay for the vehicle must come from the business. #3 - a simple way of explaining it. Your business made 100k in 2022. If you're in the 50% tax bracket...
  7. Anyone using "Hummer / G-Wagon Tax Loophole" to write off their Rivian? [6000 Pound Vehicle Tax Deduction]

Yes... This is the only reason I'd buy such an expensive SUV (R1S). 100k for a car? No way. 50k, that's more like it. This is changing however. After 2022 you'll no longer be able to depreciate 100% in year 1. The schedule will be 80% in 2023 and 60% in 2024. They're phasing out this...
  8. I'm Getting Cold Feet [** CLOSED DUE TO POLITICS DISCUSSION **]

Long time lurker here. It's my first time posting on this forum, just registered in fact to reply to this thread. If you're getting cold feet, do not buy this car. The LX is an amazing vehicle that will last you're lifetime. I have a 2018 GX460 that I expect will last forever, I'll probably...
