Seems that every image shared of the overhead view shows what looks like a snow plow in front of the truck (the camera sees the very edge of the license frame and assumes it's the full width of the bumper rather than just being a few inches from the camera and only the width of a license plate...
Not long at all - I was told by my guide that my R1T was still in Normal getting ready for its trip to the Brooklyn SC on March 17th (Friday). I was emailed first thing this morning (March 22nd Wednesday) that it was ready for delivery. I don't know how long the ride from Normal to Brooklyn is...
Was this a Shop selection or were you matched up to this vehicle? When did you get a guide assigned? I'm assuming 158xx is a '22, is that right? If so, I hope you're from the pre-price hike.
Another update -
Brooklyn Service Center contacted me today to arrange for delivery at the Brooklyn location on Friday.
All told, this is my journey:
June 6, 2022 - Reservation placed for R1T
March 10, 2023 - E-mail received to submit my configuration, submitted same day
March 11, 2023 -...
I got access to the shop here in NY and ended up pulling the trigger after a week watching the R1Tās come and go and never saw an LE pop up. I guess itās regional.
By the way, I asked my guide if there was any way I could get on a list to get the manual cover when it becomes available or if I had to just wait until they become available on the Gear Shop and her response was: "You'd have to wait until they become available in the Gear shop for purchase."...
Mine doesn't show anything either. I think that's because they're not actually charging us for anything so there's no line item to include. If you don't get a Powered Tonneau, then you get the No Tonneau by default, which retains the side rails making it manual compatible.
Update - only 49 left today. Looks like people are buying them up!
Does anyone know how often the shop get replenished? Is there a specific day to look out for new choices or do they get added in throughout the week?
Just got invited to the vehicle shop for R1T. So timeline looked like this:
Reservation June 6 2022
Invite to configure March 10 2023 (Friday)
Confirm configuration March 13 2023 (Monday)
Invite to R1T Vehicle Shop March 14 2023 (Tuesday)
Unfortunately, my exact configuration choice isnāt...
June 6, 2022 reservation - I'm also located about 40 miles / an hour away from the Brooklyn Service Center.
Also as an update, just got the email from Rivian this afternoon asking me to confirm my configuration.
Confirmed - June 2022 R1T reservation holder here, just submitted my configuration request after receiving the e-mail today.
Edit: one business day later and I've been asked to confirm my configuration. Things are moving quickly - hopefully the same holds true for the rest of the process...
Hey all, fellow Long Islander here - R1T pre-ordered June 2022 so I'll be a "soon to be owner" for a while. Rivian came by my house yesterday (E Northport) for my First Mile test drive and I'm even more excited than I was (if that was even possible).
I've been a Tesla Model 3P owner for 3 years...
Good question - but it applies to a conventional ICE vehicle as well. If I had an ICE vehicle, completely stock, but otherwise in good condition, would I take the exact same car brand new to replace it? I guess if there's no change in design, no increase in performance, no new features to take...
As someone who's been a gearhead his entire life, I can tell you that my Tesla Model 3 Performance has been the car I enjoy driving the most. That said, I very much miss installing my own intake, headers, exhaust, forced induction, and tuning it the way I want to. I miss the smell of oil and gas...
