I wanted to see how ridiculous that I spent last 3 days trying to see if my vehicle can connect to the servers to download the update and for it to be able to get it thru a hotspot while driving home - needs WiFi. So figured fuckit my iPhone has hotspot.
I guess everyone else is cool with a 4...
Once again, incorrect.
In Rivian Roamer, this portion of the update section only showed "idle " when clearly the 07 version was on the vehicle.
Now after the update and reset, it shows this - so, the connectivity wasn't working until the reset.
I saw a few other posts where other owners said...
I wasn't late getting the update due to bad luck, it was because rebooting was needed -
In the driveway before leaving; I reset the vehicle. Then within a half hour, I get a notification thru Rivian Roamer that the update was available.
on the way home I downloaded it from my phone with WiFi...
Im definitely canceling the service appointment- if this is such a well known construct that you need to reset your vehicle, maybe that is the procedure Rivian communicates.
on my i7, I know after an update, to get number sync to work with my iPhone, I need to reset the vehicle infotainment...
Mine finally updated when I did a reset or restart - even scheduled a service visit to ensure my connectivity is correct.
A $113k vehicle shouldn't have to reset their vehicle to make it grab an update on a week old vehicle built in Dec 2025
