Not sure how far the 12v outlet is under the center display but has anyone tried a long neck 12v mount? This one seems too short but it has wireless charging. From pictures it looks like the R1T outlet faces downward so not sure if it can handle the weight of the mount and a phone.
Having owned the 1st year 2017(?)Chrysler Pacifica PHEV, I can attest to this. Tons of problem with the battery (the `12v one, not the motor ones)... lots of recalls and actually had to manufacturer trade it for a 2018 model. I had so many loaners from the dealership that I got to drive almost...
But when will the EV9 come out? A possible end of 2022, start of 2023 is one of the primary reasons why I reserved a VF9.
For the R1S, you're probably looking at end of 2024 depending on where you are on the list (or if the R1T is any indicator... you may get lucky and get bumped up).
For the...
Isn't the R1S a better/bigger SUV than the Ocean One?
Seems like an easy decision to stick with a refundable $1k deposit over a $5k non-refundable one.
Sure... but if you factor in total cost... it's not that bad especially if you drive low miles and use the per mile plan. At $55k, a 3-row SUV EV is pretty cheap compared to the R1S and even the 7-seater Model Y which is smaller.
I switch between EVs and my ICE full size truck. I like coasting in the truck... but hate keeping my foot on the brake at stoplights.
I think there are some ICE vehicles from Hyundai or Kia that have stop hold... allows you to take your foot off the brake at a stop.
I think Tesla allows lease buyouts of S/X only, so you should ask.
Buying your current X should be cheaper than re-leasing/re-buying a new one.
And Tesla resale is very strong right now... over in most cases... there are people trying to get demo drops just to turn around and resell them for...
1-year no resell clause is usually unenforceable because you can always cite extenuating circumstances.
There has to be a lawyer on here who can confirm.
@MNLightning Thanks for the response.
I think for people who drive full size trucks, the Lightning is something they would prefer. For people coming from ICE cars, or even just EVs in general, the R1T is probably more their flavor.
I see you have decided to sell the Lightning... good luck!!
@MNLightning
Interior space wise, does the Lightning feel bigger? I would assume so considering it’s a full size vs mid size especially if you feel that parking it is “tighter”.
Because the Ford looks very similar to the ICE, I wonder if I’ve seen it in the wild already. You know you’ve seen...
If you resell it "immediately"... I don't think the new buyer can claim the Fed credit, so if you don't, who will?
Someone needs to get that government cheese.
The only concern here is how do you guarantee the transaction for both sides?
1. Ensuring Party A gets $10k
2. Ensuring Party B gets R1T reservation.
Rivian should start monetizing reservation swaps... charge a % of transaction fee to facilitate this. :)
Nice thread.
Just goes to show how subjective cars, trucks, EV, ICE, road conditions, daily driver, pride of ownership, lack of maintenance/customization, etc is.
It's like your underwear.... very personal and you should decide which is best. :)
