To charge at 48A, you would need a 60A breaker and 6 AWG line. That could be the issue. A 50A breaker could support 40A charging.

Sorry, that stinks. I didn't realize they had added the cap until it was time to apply. If it wasn't for trying to stay under the 80k cap for the portion of the federal credit that remains (since I didn't sign the binding agreement), I may have missed out entirely.

I squeaked under with pre-price hike pricing. With destination fee had about $500 to spare under 80k. Forest Green, 21” with Black Mountain interior. With the new 80k cap and post hike pricing, seems like it would be difficult, if not impossible, even if dual motor qualified.

So I’m gathering I need to be patient and it’s normal for there to be no communication for a bit? I submitted my application in mid-September and the best I got was an automated reply a day later saying an agent would contact me within 2-4 days…

I've kept my config (Quad R1S) steady through each update. Delivery window esentially unchanged...narrowed from Oct - Dec 2023 to Oct - Nov 2023.

My initial thought was that the one I saw was El Cap Granite. I don’t think it was limestone.

Agree. I saw four in one day (3 in just my town) and all different colors. Also, my daugther reported that a teacher say a FG R1S drive out of her school parking lot just the other day. More people are becoming aware of Rivian for sure.

Guess I’ll look forward to the next update in 3 months and hope for better news. Wish they had a “flexible” checkbox for configuration because I’m certainly willing to make some concessions on color and interior.

Seeing this at the Chelsea service center with a “demo” tag hanging from the rear view mirror gives me hope some opportunities to drive it may be upcoming…

I’m hopeful with the R1 shop it will help churn through inventory quickly. It seems fully operational at this point. Seems like it has really helped the R1T rollout for those willing to compromise. I have my ideal config but flexible for any interior, especially with the updates to Ocean Coast.

Great to see how far they've come in the few months since opening the service center. Can't wait until the lot starts to fill with the R1S, too!

That would have been awesome. It was parked at the time, so I didn’t know who the owner was. I probably should have gawked at it for longer!
