I've had UPS pack of shaped items. They do a good job. I'll call them tomorrow.... Get myself a ballpark estimate, and then, if you're willing, you could take it to your local UPS store.

If you can't retrieve the ring, you could view it as an increase to the resale value of the R1 ;) But seriously, hope you can retrieve it. I like the space filler devices that Polar recommended. (Thanks Polar for posting it. It's in my Amazon Cart. Picking up my R1S on Dec 28th!!)
