Thanks very much. It’s a very informative video. Great overview of how the R1T Gen 2 peforms with the 20” ATs, but It doesn’t really answer the question about how it would perform with AS tires on those wheels, unless I missed it.
It boggles my mind why Rivian only offers their Gen 2 R1S Tri Motor with 22” AS or 20” AT tire as the only wheel/tire options. It’s even more frustrating that they provide no EPA distance estimate for a 20” Wheel with AS tire configuration.
I have a Rivian R1S Quad with the 20” AT package. In...
Helpful review. Thanks for sharing! I’m curious what someone who has spent more considerable time with the 1st gen thinks as a comparison. Sad to hear that Driver+ still has some of same issues that I am experiencing with my Gen 1 R1S even with these supposedly much better cameras and a...
I had both the Model 3 and the Y. Never had a glue issue, but I loved having both cabin overheat protection as an option and climate keep. Not sure why Rivian has neither. Seems like an easy feature to program. The best they have done is to create a pet mode which I use to keep the climate...
I have the wristband, too. Doesn't work very well. I am constantly trying to get it to unlock/lock the car. I can never rely on it, so I always take a card, FOB, or phone. That's why it's good that Rivian is upgrading its car key system (at least with the next generation if not with us 1st...
I guess that explains why the Driver+ feature is so bad. The car is "seeing" the road like a person with a cataract condition! Anyway, I think evolving to a streaming option is a great thing and I applaud Rivian for moving the ball in that direction.
Agree. Excellent feature. I assume this was a relatively inexpensive upgrade for Rivian since they are losing tons of money on each vehicle sold and are looking to cut costs. I think this feature will further set them apart from the competitors, which is a good thing for Rivian.
I would be happy if they made their key system more like Tesla's even without apple watch support. I don't understand why with Tesla's you can order a key card and simply pair it like you would be able to pair any Bluetooth device to a phone, yet with Rivian it's a service call to get a new...
I think it might be geography, as you suggested. I live in the suburbs of New York City, and it seems that Rivian relies on mapping to a large degree rather than the cameras just "seeing" the road, assessing the surroundings, and making decisions based on that. So since they have yet to map...
You make a good point about leasing, but leasing is not an option when you adopt early. I have a Tesla too, and yes, they overpromise for sure, but my experience has been that any update they make, for years, included my Tesla. That's the right way to do things. Anyway, I can't say that I...
The driver plus as it is now barely works. I don’t need full self driving, but I can’t go more than 10-15 minutes without the current system just quitting or getting confused. There are strips of road if works on and often it suddenly gives me a warning and disengages. Slightly inclement...
As an early adopter I feel totally betrayed by Rivian with respect to the Driver + functionality that they are brining to the 2nd gen and not bringing to the first gen vehicles. Their Driver system really should be called Driver -. It’s virtually useless. And now they are leaving their most...
