Looking at the graphql, my estimates got pushed out by 9 months (Jul-Sep '23 to Jan-Jun '24). If that's the case, I am long gone.
That's very disappointing.
I just sold all my positions on Rivian, for a chunky loss. I will buy back little later but I do anticipate the sell off to continue - due to market volatility, ongoing struggle to ramp and the opening of the lockup period.
Overall, many of us were surprised this was valued higher than some of...
Just to clarify, my original comment was on how easily we assume everything as fixable in s/w (800v, backup camera resolution, better charge curve, more thermal stabilization while charging - all s/w fixable in this forum).
Coming to this particular issue, I have significant concerns:
We are...
I am surprised the number of times 'software update will fix it' is used in this forum. Software is not a magic panacea for all troubles (I wish that's the case, as a software engineer). It's going to be limited by hardware design and any fundamental flaws.
Maybe we are spoiled by Tesla...
As someone who is unlikely to hit off-road, some of the EQS luxury features are very attractive.
Having not seen any progress on R1Ss, this has piqued my interest a lot.
you may be right but that falcon door in my Model X alone is a hot mess and not sure if I would call it stingy hardware. Has been to the shop quite few times just for the falcon door sensors not working. One of the shop update broke trunk sensor and my trunk hit hard against the open garage...
R1S has no max pack.
my early Sep 21 R1S adventure has delivery window of H1 2023. So, looks like you will at least be looking at that timeframe if you change it to suv.
Likely even later since no R1Ss have been delivered yet ?‍♂️
I am in similar dilemma. Love the looks of 20 inch and the odd size of 21” but I am never going to even see snow often (being in Los Angeles) and would hate to give up on the range.
is there any real world data on range of the three tire sizes - mostly highway driving?
I actually have very little time to spend with Rivian CS (or any CS for that matter).
But, if Rivian is more forthcoming with information and transparent, I don't think many will be contacting CS. No information about R1S, many with delivery dates coming up without any contact etc adds up to...
Does the ramp UP in the end indicates the battery charging could be optimized more? Probably ramped down drastically after 65% than needed?
Overall, very disappointing charge curve.
Sep '21.
My Model X just ran out of warranty. I want to sell it while prices are hot.
Keeping my eyes open on other options as well - to buy my next EV in late 2022.
Very nice looking. Seriously thinking of considering this as I have no confidence to see my R1S before H2, 2023.
Those charge curves on EQS are insanely good.
Your example is not a great analogy. It’s not like pro vs non pro. R1 and Amazon vehicles are two completely separate segments - think of it like sales figures of iPhone vs iPad which apple does report in earnings.
Trust is not earned overnight or eroded in one decision. Price increase is only one part of this. transparency, failure to meet delivery windows, not many deliveries outside employees, quite a few open concerns (charge curve, highway range etc) even after extensive testing are few other factors...
