  1. Investor Day 2024 Live! Gen 2 range figures and other findings

Explains why they had to get rid of Bosch. EE woman's presentation is very interesting
  2. Does production still seem slow to anyone else?

I'm surprised at the lack of options in the shop, especially premium audio. Not that premium audio should be extra on an expensive vehicle. The lack of large pack is also unfortunate.
  3. ? *BREAKING* Rivian & VW Announce Joint Venture -- VW Investing $1B in Rivian and another $4B to form JV for next gen EVs

I think VW is positioning to potentially buy Rivian. They bought smaller auto brands in the past. Lamborghinis literally have parts from the VW parts bin. While I don't get how Rivian shares software with VW, the deal is great to reassuring buyers that Rivian has a future. Rivian seems to fit...
  4. New Camp Kitchen by Range Industries

It was never sold because of rattles. So anyone making a similar design would have a similar issue. But perhaps it could be sold with the understanding that it would not be silent.
  5. Biggest downgrade for Gen2 R1?

They may want to coordinate changing RAN to NACs. Its a bit of a mess for existing owners
  6. About Rivian's R1T build-to-order production strategy.

Rivian can only mass produce the R1T economically. But it seems to me they would build the higher end R1S before going back into production of the R1T. So I put voucher holders chance of getting a Gen 2 R1T at maybe 5 percent. I'm assuming Rivian has a nice R1S demand bump with Gen 2 that...
  7. Have early reservation/discount. Can I get Tri or Quad Motor?

You will not be able to use your voucher to buy a tri or quad. According to me, who is an excellent predictor of business practices.
  8. Anyone else still trying to figure out what 2025 configuration they want?

Range aside, the biggest downside with LFP is the huge range loss with the car unplugged overnight in very cold weather. But other wise its a great technology for people not wanting a 0-60 in 2.5 seconds.
  9. About Rivian's R1T build-to-order production strategy.

I doubt the 2025 R1T shows up in the shop before vouchers expire. I doubt they switch from R1S production this summer/fall unless sales are really slow. I don't expect sales to be really slow. I originally ordered a two row R1S with the real max pack. Such a foolish dreamer. So I guess I'll...
  10. New R1 Shop with refreshed vehicles is imminent

Adding tow hooks should be easy because the structure is designed in. I think the one compromise with a store purchase might be a wheel I don't want. They are also probably forcing max pack on some people. But with the preorder discount and the 2022 tax credit none of the choices seem expensive.
  11. New R1 Shop with refreshed vehicles is imminent

They want to build what people want to buy, so unless you have a weird combo a shop build should work. I suspect the reason they are limiting to shop build is to hold to the deadline. I want an Ocean Coast interior, which I'm sure will arrive in a batch.
  12. What are the thoughts on the new 2025 base prices?

Still nice for pre-order holdouts. Although I'm doubting that a 2025 R1T will be delivered in time for preorder holders
  13. New R1 Shop with refreshed vehicles is imminent

    Pleanty of 2025 R1S for Illinois delivery. I'm doubting 2025 R1T this summer :(
  14. Factory Shutdown Bingo

Looks like a significant refresh with the EPA battery pack info for the 2015 model year.
  15. Factory Shutdown Bingo

Maybe a max pack that isn't stupid for the cost
  16. Factory Shutdown Bingo

Did they? That would be great
  17. Ford "PRICE WAR" drives RIVN under $10

They will likely do convertible senior notes once SP gets low enough that the buyers will value the potential upside on the equity.
  18. Early Reservation Pricing Deadline September 2024

Coupon holders are the reluctant group. Rivian is not going to try and force that group to buy pre-shutdown model. There's no 2.0 vehicle coming. Maybe version 1.05
