Great photo. I see hot air balloons from my deck overlooking the valley all the time but *never* so many at once. Very cool. Almost absurd. Where is that?
Definitely agree it makes it harder. We have a bit of flexibility and have been experimenting with traveling on the weekends and working...
Release keeps getting delayed but Enphase has a bidirectional charger in the works and at least some of their promo material in the past has had R1Ts in them:

For the last question. I tried a few options but like the OBD-II to 12v adapter for both backup camera and carplay.
For your route above was that with or without the tesla supercharger adapter? I have found it to make my life a lot better since getting. (I got the lectron one. Still waiting for...
Mine started like the OP's where I could reset and it was fixed and then eventually failed entirely. There are a few threads about this on the forum. They are linked in something like a serial chain and if one fails they all fail.
FWIW, I'd make the service appointment asap. I also tried a...
Yeah, ours came with the voyager as well. With our old tow vehicle we didn't use it except sometimes when backing in but now we use it for the whole drive.
We had to do that once- also at a walmart EA- and just disconnected when someone was ready to leave and did a loop and reconnected.
Which reminds me. Although I agree the R1T is the best tow vehicle I've ever had it does unfortunately not have great mirrors for towing. I find it helpful to...
We were careful to not block the driveway but we did use up a few spots. The lot was almost entirely empty though. I think, often, it is easier to come from the other side for tesla chargers. Some of the charging locations we have found are basically big parking lots which are largely empty and...
Congrats on the new airstream! We love ours and use it all the time.
For whatever it is worth, you can usually get away with not detaching with a little bit of awkward parking and checking out the charging station options via the satellite photos ahead of time. (We have done a lot of trips over...
I do. I replaced my 14-50 50A extension cable with a 40A J1772 extension cable. It rolls up into a very small pouch that I toss on top of my spare in R1T. The 14-50 extension is huge in comparison. I use it while camping with my airstream so I can easily reach and charge my truck. (Portable...
I dunno. Just do an image search on Rivian and airstream. Tons of images. That's just for airstreams. Tons of people in Rivian's target audience that have trailers of one sort or another. A lot of beautiful campgrounds don't have hookups. Which is fine if you have a solar panel and lithium...
Sounds like a fun trip. We are pretty happy using our R1T for towing. Definitely adds time with the charge stops but it works out. Mostly using Tesla chargers now. Tend to be in nicer locations with more space and stalls to make it easier with the trailer. (Also found it useful to zoom in with...
Probably won't work for your travel plans but, depending, you might also look at campgrounds with hook ups. Like say if you have a roof top tent or trailer. I can usually charge our truck while glamping with our airstream. Airstream goes into the 30a and the rivian into the 50a.
Once I have...
@CharonPDX, if you do open a ticket and get some resolution please do post. My experience with gear guard- which is significant since this is when I cannot plug-in- is comparable.
I have asked service in the past and they have told me it is normal. Maybe something has changed but I'll remain...
Oh, yeah. I know where you are talking about. Thanks.
Makes sense. We have only done a couple of weeks at a time with <500 miles per day as of yet although we do go frequently. We plan to try out a cross country working remotely from the trailer. Probably still do <500 miles per day. We did...
Congrats Billy1963!
moosetags, looks like perhaps Seaside? My parents live down in Seagrove.
We have had good experiences towing our airstream with it. Albeit with a range reduced to ~160 miles but that's doable and even easier now that the Tesla chargers are opened up. (Granted this is in...
We have an Airstream Caravel that we now tow with our R1T. You might check to see if your WDH is adjustable. Granted our previous truck also had fairly high clearance but we were able to adjust our Blue Ox to hook it up. Also note that after you hook it up the R1* will adjust too using the air...
FWIW, the first time I paid with the app after setting it up it did an enrollment process (where I selected the charger by name and plugged in) with my truck and then ever since it is the painless plug and charge without using the app.
Not what you asked for but I was able to get a rivian wristband while my truck was at the service center. I use it when I go running. Works just like the keycard. FWIW.
