  1. Question about using cruise control while towing

The R2 Owner’s Guide was posted on the Rivian web site this morning. Instead of everyone guessing at the answer, read the manual.
  2. Question about using cruise control while towing

Yes, the scroll wheels can adjust the cruise control settings. Both Tesla and Rivian (at least in the current R1T and R1S) use the right hand scroll wheel to do this. For Tesla, the up/down motion controls speed and the right/left motion controls the follow distance. Rivian has these two...
  3. R2 for a leasing noob

I wouldn't lease a vehicle starting the clock on when you have a future mandatory replacement with a vehicle that doesn't even have a stated timetable for its release. In 2013 I purchased a Nissan Leaf with the intention of replacing it with a Tesla Model 3. At the time, the rumors were that...
  4. Transfer of R2 reservation

Just have your friend submit their own reservation. Once production has ramped up and the real deliveries start, it really won't matter if you had a reservation or not.

  6. Rivian Assistant - Wish list

It's unfortunate that the only (current) calendar integration seems to be with Google calendars. Many of us that are in the Apple ecosystem, instead of running Android OS on our phones, don't use Google calendars at all. I've already submitted feedback using the link at the bottom of the main...
  7. Verbiage changed in-app

I noticed that in the images they use that the vehicles are only filled halfway with blinker fluid. I'll be sure to check that mine are full on delivery day! :D
  8. Glacier White R2 + Catalina Cove R2 in cloudy / overcast weather - photos

Just admit it, you’ve already lost primary access to this future vehicle. You’ll need to buy a second R2 for guaranteed access.
  9. R2 Test Drives Begin in June [Official]

If true, that’s a nice geeky day for the release of the R2.
  10. First time helping a stuck driver

EVs have a gearbox, but they do not have a transmission. A transmission is a gearbox can have multiple ratios to the input/output. As @SwampNut said, while EVs don't have direct drive where the end device spins at the same RPM as the engine crankshaft, there is a gearbox to reduce the ~20,000...

@2:41 in that video - this test mule looks like a little fun
  18. Near Miss With a Deer

i don’t have any idea about something showing on the display. I don’t remember hearing any emergency braking alarms. There could have been,, but it was over in a flash. Thinking back - I didn’t notice the anti-lock brakes going, so should have hit the brakes harder. I also should have had the...
  19. Near Miss With a Deer

Driving home tonight over 4 hours after sunset, so generally well after the time that deer are most active, I just about became a statistic with my R1T. Traveling 55 mph on a paved county road, I saw a couple deer in the corner of my eye in the ditch, and then not even a second later, saw one...
