You can post it everywhere on Reddit, forums and auto trader, and your friend is still going to realize he’s $25k overpriced and it’s not the lottery ticket he thinks it is.
They offered me $39k for my F-150 Lightning which I sold to my local Ford dealer for $95k. Not shocked by that since they probably couldn’t differentiate trim levels and it had only been out for a few months.
Was filling up our other car's tires this weekend. Set it to 37 PSI but for some reason it filled 2 of 4 up to like 50 PSI. Had to let air out to bring them back into range. Was confused on why that happened or if it was reading properly.
I’m trying to figure out if my mind is playing tricks on me. Does the ride stiffen when staying in all purpose mode but switching from normal to lower? I’m short and it’s easier to get in and out of on lower, but feel like I’m feeling more of the imperfections of the road as compared to normal.
I also agree that the F150L was whisper quiet and I enjoyed that. The R1T has electric motor noise and a very subtle wind noise. Still seems very quiet overall.
No regrets. Rivian is a good fit for me. It is an upgrade from a MachE. It’s a unique machine. And if you hate it, easy to use it to get something else cool.
Umm, the early adopters are the ones who paid the least and have an asset worth $25k more than they paid (for dealing with headaches). You’re being a bit dramatic about a rubber wrist band whitch you’ve lived without your entire life. Sell the truck if it’s a big deal or buy one somehow.
Got the R1T on the highway tonight and it settled it. R1T is a sports car in a trucks body. It was heaven and about 20% more efficient than the Lightning. Dealer getting the Lightning in the AM.
Having both in my possession hasn’t made the decision easier. The Rivian is pretty and the tech is great. Lightning seats and interior space are great. Both cars are amazing machines. I’m 90% sure I’m selling the Lightning, but gonna sleep on it one more night.
I’m 5’8 on a good day (ha) and park in a garage for work. Plus I’m a millennial and like the cool factor of the Rivian. That’s why I’m leaning that way, but man it’s a close call.
Will see how I’m feeling when I get behind the wheel of it tomorrow and officially take delivery.
Appreciate the advice and yes, first world problems. I’ve gone from a Yukon Denali, to a Lexus CT200h, to first gen Volt, to a Tesla model 3, to a MachE First Edition, to a MachE GT, now to a lightning. Clearly I’m likely to switch cars again in due course no matter what I decide. Luckily...
Nope. I’m close to a college and tied into an emergency grid. Neighbor told me they’ve never lost power in 20 years of living here.
Really all about comfort and enjoyability. I like the smaller form factor of the R1T and that it’s the new toy, but will miss car play. Just hope it rides...
