With the OPs specific use case, I would skip an EV at this time, at least as an only vehicle. The Rivian is a great deal given pre 3/1 pricing, federal and state tax credits, but probably won't work for the trips to the cabin. Sure, the EV infrastructure will get better, but I doubt there would...
For me the $10k for 50ish miles just doesn't make it worth it over the Large. Also, I had pre 3/1 pricing, plus the $7500 tax credit. Given my budget, I think at current prices I might be a customer for a regular dual motor Large pack, or I would wait to see what the R2 holds.
To be fair to Tesla, I wouldn’t judge panel gaps on prototypes/test vehicles, only on customer deliveries. Also, to be fair to Tesla, they don’t have a good reputation on panel gaps of their other vehicles for customer deliveries.
My recent troubles had both of my 12v batteries replaced from mobile service. Over the next 4-5 days, I received 3 Motor Fault Alarms. Towed to Brooklyn, they called me and said they were a little embarrassed that the ground cable wasn’t tight, which caused my motor fault alarms. They then towed...
I have Ocean Coast, almost 11k miles, delivered in November. No regrets. I have not noticed any dirt or marks on the seat. Keeping it clean doesn’t seem to be a concern, I haven’t done anything. I generally prefer lighter colors on an interior. But I also don’t have kids or dogs. I probably...
When I had remote service about a few weeks ago, the tech told me that a center in Trenton should open by the end of the year, but a building still had to be built for Edison, so that would be longer. He did not mention anything about temporary locations.
I would guess they won't announce it until its on a few trucks, and working. Otherwise, lots of people will be swamping the service centers for power tonneau fixes, and they are already swamped as it is with other work. Probably initially fix it if the truck comes in for something else also...
I won't. Too many other sources out there. I don't know if his extremely long videos are a lack of editing skills or inflated self worth, or maybe there are people out there that want feature film length reviews of vehicles.
I took delivery in November, now about 10k miles. About a month ago my 12v batteries died, it took 2.5 weeks to get a mobile service appointment. Truck was completely dead, in my driveway, I had charged to 70% the night before, I don't think I have taken the main battery below 25% yet. I live...
Just started playing around with the PA Turnpike Toll calculator. Its $50 to drive from Ohio to NJ, with EZ Pass, I found that a little shocking, although it is a long drive. My commute to work is $4.90 (Morgantown to Valley Forge), unless I take backroads, which adds 10-15 minutes to my...
If we are talking about double taxing in Pennsylvania, lets address the Pennsylvania Turnpike. I am already paying for the upkeep on that road via tolls. They shouldn't (but probably will) keep the tolls and then tax on someones mileage. But I guess they already do that with gas/diesels and the...
I've had the same experience with an Ioniq (the old style) on a 350kw charger. I think I charged from around 40% to 80%, in the same time he went from around 80% to mid 90%. There was no line, so I guess no foul, but I am not sure someone with that much free time to charge cares about a line...
Were the Teslas cut off because they had different motors, or the software had passed the processing hardware by, as happens in modern smart phones and computers? Apple doesn't support Gen 1 iphones as far as I know. What do you consider long term support, the warranty period, 2 years, 5 years...
Sure, 3.5 seconds vs 3.0 seconds may seem trivial. But whats the range difference in Quad vs Dual Performance, 328 miles vs 350 miles, a 22 miles difference? Also trivial, in all but the most extreme circumstances. $500 savings on a $80k vehicle, also trivial, paint preferences cost 3 times...
I stopped using the folding mirrors the first time one was frozen "closed/folded" during a minor snow/ice storm. Just seems like a point of failure, where for me, folded in mirrors don't really gain much.
I was willing to keep the subscription I barely used for $4/month, not at $7/month. But really, since getting my home charger installed, I only charged one day in April (2 stations twice) and a couple times around Christmas. Doesn't help that one of the stations near family that I used in...
