  1. R2 Jack Point Design - Potential Issues / Challenges

Wishful thinking. There will need to be some interface between any lifting device (floor, commercial, etc.) for this to work.
  2. Why stock getting hammered last few days?

Rivian was and is a car company that never executed cleanly and never hit scale. The market isn’t buying the pivot to “software/tech company.” After 4œ years of ownership, I still think they’re too good to die but not strong enough to stand alone. I hope I’m wrong, as we love our Rivian's, but...
  3. R2 Jack Point Design - Potential Issues / Challenges

Maybe there’s a rationale we haven’t heard yet, but as it stands, the R2 jack point is nowhere near as secure or intuitive as the R1. “Optimized for service centers” feels more like “only safe in service centers.”
  4. R2 Jack Point Design - Potential Issues / Challenges

I get the idea, but the R2 jack point simply isn’t machined for positive engagement. There’s no defined locating feature, and the center cavity isn’t a keyed geometry (look at rounding of edges). Unlike the R1, a puck can’t lock in, everything depends on friction and precise placement.
  5. R2 Jack Point Design - Potential Issues / Challenges

We have a couple of designs already made, but there are just so many compromises with the OEM jack point, that it is literally baffling to me.
  6. R2 Jack Point Design - Potential Issues / Challenges

This is the new jack point for the R2. The 2"×4" high‑density polymer pad is the designated load surface, and the cavity in the center is difficult to justify from a functional standpoint for service facilities. The cavity would most likely be for a Rivian supplied scissor jack? Nothing outside...
  7. Location of the 12v battery in the R2?

  8. Location of the 12v battery in the R2?

This is the new jack point. That little 2"×4" polymer rectangle is the load surface, and the random cavity in the middle is
honestly, a head‑scratcher. Nothing outside that rectangle is weight‑bearing, so no floor jack or bottle jack actually fits there. It’s a baffling design.
  9. Location of the 12v battery in the R2?

You should ask your friend who builds JackPucks
he definitely knows the answer 😎
  10. R1S G1 Coming up to end of warranty - what issues to look for?

Had my full inspection at 58K and Rivian replaced dampers, two control arms, and a few other things under warranty. I’m at 70K now and love the truck, but I wouldn’t keep it without XCare. I bought it and posted my experience , which was great.
  11. RIVIAN ASSISTANT SOFTWARE UPDA

I've done this and it works, but it's a huge workaround....and my wife, definitely isn't interested in those hoops. Spoiled by, "Hey Alexa play my favorites, or play ....." Hopefully a fix is forthcoming..
  12. RIVIAN ASSISTANT SOFTWARE UPDA

Quite a few posts on this. It is an absolute MISS by Rivian for Amazon Music alone....
  13. Rivian Assistant is here!! (Update: not quite yet) (Update 2: it's here!!)

The lack of Amazon music is a HUGE miss by Rivian, especially considering that it was practically native to every R1 since day-dot.
  14. Rivian took over my Tesla Supercharging session and charged me more than double?

I've found this happens when you plug in too fast after selecting the stall in the Tesla app. Once I pick the post number, I wait ~10 seconds before plugging in. Since doing that, I haven’t had a single Rivian‑billed session on my Tesla membership. YMMV.
  15. Rivian App 3.12.0 out for iOS

My wife could care less about text messaging via the assistant. Shes a no-go on the assistant. Play my music is all she needs as an analog driver with an EV. For my R1T, I'm currently 75% no go on the assistant as well. We'll see.
  16. Rivian App 3.12.0 out for iOS

I use Alexa for Amazon music every day. What recourse is there to play from my Amazon music account now? No, native app, so out of luck?
  17. When will R1 get Gen 3 hardware?

It’s already being worked on, I would imagine. RJ loves the R1. Nobody outside the building knows the full spec, but the obvious move is LG’s 4695 cell backed by Rivian’s 5‑year supply deal and the Arizona plant ramping up. 800V, updated compute, and a Max Pack in the 475‑mile neighborhood...
