I donāt know a lot about current batteries.
I do know what has been recommended by five different car manufacturers that I have had the fortune of owning. They are also concerned about warranty claims as much as they are the user experience.
For my use case, I donāt keep cars long enough to...
You seem to have proprietary information about what Rivian has done. Which is strange, since they donāt seem to share a lot of info about their batteries.
I will take Brandenās experience which mirrors mine and many other high mileage EV owners over what you seem to be trying to push on everyone.
The recommendation to not charge to 100% is there for warranty purposes of battery longevity. If that is a concern it is actually better to charge the...
Wow. Long. Lots of info. Seems as though Roman has come around and gotten over his beef with Rivian. Still a curmudgeon on standard automotive design. Canāt fault him for that.
Good video TFL. Thanks @TFLtommy
The big takeaway from this video for me was that 7000 lbs. will slide down an icy hill even with snow rated tires. I was surprised that they didnāt loose total control and smack a tree.
I think that TFL is geared towards the mainstream viewer for the most part. They seem to focus on entertainment more than actual scientific testing of EVs. When it comes to actual testing that they do, their Ike Gauntlet and their Highway MPG testing is actually pretty good.
Others like Kyle...
Just another dig on Rivian by Roman. He knows that it would regen/regain range on the way back the mountain. To their defense though they didnāt start or end the video at their office.
I would guess that Branden is referring to using a level 2 charger(At a hotel or at home to charge to 100% overnight) and then hitting a level 3 DCFC station for your second and subsequent charges(to enough range to hit the next DCFC to stay in the peak charging speed) on a road trip.
I fully...
@TFLtommy would it be possible to get a Taycan, e-tron GT or any other car capable of charging at 200kw plus to those same chargers?
I have a e-tron GT and have experienced multiple times that the EA 350kw chargers are throttled to 150kw. About a 50% success rate of getting charge rates above...
I stopped by 2289 Dabney Rd. in Richmond today. I was able to talk to one of the construction contractors. Very pleasant to chat with. He informed me that they were almost done with phase one. They will return for phase two sometime in March when the previous tenant vacates the other half of...
You have no idea what my or someone else's talent is in regards to installing PPF. I don't intend to do the entire truck, just the high impact areas. And no, I don't intend to spend $3-$4k just to do those areas. It's just a $70k truck not a $350k McLaren.
Picture for attention.
Not mine but...
For anyone that wants to do their own Paint Protection Film. You can order precut film for a 2022 Rivian R1T from Drive Protected Shop. I used discount code BTG (Bearded Tesla Guy).
I recently picked up a M2 to get back into HPDE, Auto X, etc. I also picked up a trailer to haul it to Summit Point, VIR, etc. using my Ram(Hoping the R1T will be up to the task).
Would you mind sharing more info about this event?
Thanks
Mine ride in the back seat. Works well in my Ram kinda tight squeeze in the Model Y. I wish the back seats in the R1T folded the other direction and offered a flat floor like my Ram.
They grow so quickly.
I think it's interesting that so many people believe what this dishonest and deceiving person posted about a vehicle they didn't own. It was mentioned that this person was a friend of an employee? Certainly not a real friend to risk someone loosing their lively hood. Makes you wonder what...
