I would have thought so too. The Rivian Charger has had hundreds of hours of charging on the Rivian, e-Tron, and Bolt with no issues. Folks on Tesla forums have reported the same happening to them at J1772 chargers.
I had two J1772 chargers set up. One for my wife's e-Tron GT and the Rivian for my R1T. I've since replaced one of them with a Gen3 Tesla wall Charger that I had from my previous Model Y.
I managed to melt one of the pins in the Tesla adapter and the handle to my Rivian Wall Charger. I contacted service about buying either a new cord/handle or handle. My guide got back to me stating that they are currently not supplying individual parts to service the wall charger.
I recently had a Tesla adapter melt one of the pins in my Rivian Wall Charger/And the Tesla adapter(known issue if you search Tesla forums). Per my guide, they are not offering individual parts to service the wall charger at this time. Getting a whole new unit.
Unfortunately I don't have pics. After my suction cup mount failed several times I took a dremel to it. I basically cut the mount down to as small as possible. I then cut two small slots in the plastic cover and passed the mount through the cover.
With Rivian’s inability/desire to redesign the power tonneau cover, I would love to see them work with Lear/ARE to create a cap that attaches to the crossbar mounts.
A couple of weeks ago I had to run to my BMW dealer to pick up some parts for my M2. Ran into a guy trading his Launch Edition R1T with 7000 miles on it. He said they gave him $84,000 towards the purchase of a X6M.

crazy thing is that I already have my Launch Edition R1T and placed my second...
My 12/15/18 reservation was originally a Max pack. When they announced that the Large pack was delivering first, I switched to that. At the beginning of January this year I placed another reservation for Max pack(pre March pricing). I took delivery of my Launch edition R1T 3/26/22 and am happy...
I spoke to the guys from rigdsupply.com at Overland Expo East. They said they were working on a Rivian fitment. Rivian isn’t listed on their website yet but you could shoot them an email.
Hauled a friends new bike about a month ago on my small Aluma trailer. I haul my GSA and X-Challange to the dealer with this setup with similar stats.
It's much easier to load onto the trailer than in the bed.
