I joined the club for "Service Suspension System Soon" with my 2023 Gen 1 R1T (10K miles) today. Vehicle was in last week for tire rotation and knuckle bolt torquing. Drove it 300 miles over the weekend in snowy conditions. Saw sensor errors due to snow and grime build up during the drive...
Using the RIVIAN 110v charger we had LED lights in the house that would flicker. These same bulbs also flicker when a dehumidifier is running. I blame it on the bulbs (LED replacements for halogen spots). Once we got the RIVIAN level 2 charger installed and on a dedicated 60A circuit, no flicker...
Excellent review. Looks like a great route. I’m a fellow Vistabule owner! So far, I’ve only done a short 100 mile trial run with our R1T and we are eager to get on a real journey. Your story is inspiration.
When we were recently in VT in an area without cell service, I’d put the truck in camp...
Great details and pics from all in the thread.
We've got a Vistabule teardrop that we’ve towed a lot with our prior SUV and only have 100 miles in with the R1T so far. We are eagerly looking forward to longer trips. It weighs in about 1500# and the R1 shows its efficiency at about 1.8 mi/kWh...
Great post - thanks.
My R1T was pretty quiet on the driver’s side but depending on the wind, the passenger side ranged from quiet to sounding like the window was open a crack. I ordered both sets of weather stripping. The L arrived this week and I got it put in. Major benefit just from that...
I cut an old camp sleeping pad and glued it to cover the top and around the front lip. The 4Knines seat cover then covers the pieces in place. The pad lip, seat cover, plus a blanket over the folded up seat bottoms create enough pressure to keep the seats from falling back on the dog. The pieces...
Thanks for the great concepts!
I borrowed the cardboard template idea for a very simple bench setup. Our German shepherd likes the view from up high on the seats, but it is a big jump in and out, and I worry about him falling off the seat with sudden braking. I built portable stairs for the him...
An update on water tightness. Tues night we got >2" of rain and had 40+ mph winds. The R1T was outside. Garbage cans and a small kayak that was in a rack next to the garage blew into the yard.
The photo shows the water that got into the bed area with the Lomax trifold. I view this as a positive...
The bed mat is from SmartLiner. Someone else on the forum recommended them for floor mats and the bed. I opted to repurpose some older Weathertech floor mats for now, but like the SmartLiner for the bed. It keeps items from sliding around on the hard plastic that is there.
It came rolled up, so...
Adding a couple photos from my Lomax carbon fiber tonneau installed last month. I debated hard on the added cost for the carbon fiber but am glad I went with it. Light weight, low profile and secure. So far the bed seems pretty dry in rain - did one 5-hour drive in light-moderate rain at highway...
