4/19 preorder and also received yesterday. Fwiw I live within about 5 miles of the Irvine HQ (shouldnāt matter) and about 10 miles from the Costa Mesa service center.
Very good point. I was confusing things...I was trying to both use the PBA and not exceed the $80k. Income limits blow me & most of us out of the water either way, so presumably a moot point.
FWIW, my concern was less about the verbiage (I understood $80,000.00 was eligible), and more about...
Long story short I know there are questions about how things will pan out in 2023 tax incentives, but for the purposes of finalizing my order I'm currently at EXACTLY $80,000.00 and signed the preorder agreement last year when it was offered by Rivian (put my reservation in April 2019).
I'm...
If hypothetically I didnāt want/need my car 1H 2023, which is my current estimate (though the site may provide better insights soon), but wanted to keep my LE configuration and pricing, how would I spec out my R1S to push delivery out further? For instance, insisting on Ocean Coast with white...
I totally agree with you. The accelerationin our Polestar 2 and the Lightning is excessively fast even if itās nowhere near the 2 or 3 second mark.
The novelty of punching it wears off in a matter of days. Iāll still accelerate quickly at lights from time to time, but nothing like flooring it.
Thatās kind of my hope for myself and others who have been on this journey for 3+ years and donāt have anything out of pattern from a location and build perspective. I guess weāll see.
I was surprised that, being an April 2019 R1S LE preorder holder that lives a few miles from the Irvine HQ, Iām out at 1H 2023 for my delivery estimate.
Has there been any discussion that Iāve missed around expectations that they might speed things up materially with these changes?
Any thoughts?
Right here a few posts up. Daytime isnāt terrible, but people running the AC in the evening to cool down the house arenāt super thrilled.

At least you get a few hours of peak sun for those who have solar. SCE in SoCal now has peak structured in such a way that if you have solar most of your generation is off peak, and peak is when you arenāt producing.
California really doesnāt give two sh!ts about jacking costs up to levels that...
As I understand it, Geely did indeed purchase Volvo in 2010, effectively throwing them a lifeline when their back was against the wall after that Global Financial Crisis hit. Iām not sure they were as bad off as Saab, but they were struggling. Along with the acquisition they provided them a ton...
As a first time truck owner (Lightning Platinum) and R1S reservation holder since April '19 I'm trying to take an objective look at this, and not as a "Ford" guy just because it happened to arrive first (it's my first Ford/domestic). Still super pumped and excited for the R1S.
I'm also...
Not if itās an extended range Lariat or the Platinumā¦both are too expensive so Ford isnāt likely thrilled. The same person who wants a nice Rivian might want a more well optioned and longer range Lightning and they are SOL.
Got mine on Saturday Iām happier than a pig in $hit - absolutely love...
I live in SoCal and I get it. $300k *could* be practically paycheck to paycheck without making any extravagant lifestyle choices. At the same time, there is no shortage of luxury cars with no incentives, or people optioning up lower priced cars, wherever Iām out on the road.
I may be wrong, but...
I guess a lot of people here will be kissing that tax credit goodbye in 2023. Glad I received my Lightning here in 2022 as I think the current rules apply.
On one hand it's a bummer that the income limit is where it is, but on the other hand if you're in the higher income brackets I don't...
Congrats! Love the yellow. Wishing you many great adventures with it.
The wait for my April ā19 deposit R1S continues through 1H 2023 for now, but after seeing it at the Venice hub this week my enthusiasm for Rivian is definitely back.
I feel like my experience has been so different in the Polestar. The TCAM issues are well documented, but overall Android Automotive has been great for me.
Absolutely love Android Automotive in my Polestar - voice controls are so natural and everything just feels seamless. Funny thing is that the CarPlay update came last night for me, and I used it today on my way to Venice to check out the R1S, and I found myself missing the native Android...
