You might be right. We had a Model X and switched to an iX. The iX is better made than the Tesla but the packaging isn't nearly as good. The lease is up in two years and I have an R2 reservation but her three favorite things about the BMW are the build quality, the adas, and carplay. Rivian can...
So is one. My wife won’t consider an R1S because she prefers the CarPlay in her BMW. She’s not the only one. When you’re in the business of selling cars, “buy another vehicle if you don’t like it” isn’t necessary the best strategy to increase sales. I don’t understand why people get defensive...
I think we're going to be in for a long wait before V2H and you can pick up a nice refurbished 40A charger for under $400 which you can sell later on if you upgrade to V2H down the line. It's a drop in the bucket compared to the $90k you're spending on the vehicle. But it's not a must have, just...
You're right, the more charging you can do between 12-6am, the cheaper it will be. There are fast chargers everywhere around here so you're never going to get stuck but it's just so much more convenient to charge at home and not worry about stopping. Enjoy never going back to a gas station. You...
You really want more than a 32A charger for your Rivian. The batteries are huge and that's just too slow. I don't know why SMUD limits it to such a low rate for the chargers they will rebate, but frankly, you should just go out and buy a decent charger if your electrical system can handle it. I...
This is super helpful. Thank you for sharing. I have USAA and hope to never have to go through this but I'll make sure to follow your lead if I ever do.
I know. It's nuts. The vampire drain has infuriated me from day 1. The amount of waste is scandalous, especially from a brand that likes to tout its environmental responsibility. There are so many awesome things about the truck, I just can't believe they screwed this up so badly.
I had the...
Thanks to everyone who’s contributed to cracking the vampire-drain problem – I finally seem to have solved it (at least on my end). Below is my setup and the results of an eight-day test. I added links to all the items in my setup.
Result: 1 % total vampire drain on the high-voltage pack over...
I changed the height of mine once. They sell a kit and it’s not too expensive. Not something you’re going to want to do more than once. It’s a pain.
I had one of these racks and they're awesome. Not having to put it together yourself is a huge bonus. Great price too. I only got rid of mine because I switched to a GFC.
Tell us more. Was this the sunny pilot build? What toggles were you using? Lukas said Experimental mode wasn't great but I haven't tested it and other people seem to like it.
I drove thousands of miles with the stock build with no issues other than a few curves that Openpilot wanted assistance...
Right but not the adjustment. Although I think in the latest build if you exceed the set speed with the accelerator, it will reset at the higher speed.
