https://twraps.com/products/jacking-point-covers-replacement-for-rivian-r1t-r1s Twraps gotcha covered... pun intended.
  2. Joined the Rivian family yesterday w/ new Gen 2 R1S.

Your experience is far and away more common than negative experiences. Not that Rivian has never delivered a truck they shouldn't have but those are very rare and I'm not aware of a single instance of Rivian not making the situation right, or near as possible, in the end. Congrats on the...
  3. Possible? Rivian Service Center in Malvern, PA

Rochester NY Rivian Service Center is currently partially operational out of a Rivian approved partner collision center while they finish the final permitting to open the dedicated Rivian Center. The tech's there have been great I have actually had two services completed there already. Rivian...
  4. Do your ultrasonic sensors freak out sometimes?

Noticed this has been happening fairly regularly when first starting a drive on both my 2022 T and my 2023 S. Regularity has increased substantially since the last update (coincidence?). Happens even when the ultrasonic sensors are perfectly clean. It's a minor annoyance and doesn't impact...
  5. Key fob no longer standard?

This is correct however not exactly as it seems n the surface. The "Trade Secrets" that Tesla is alleging were acquired by Rivian were for employee compensation package info NOT for technologies relating to creating EV's. I think most people assume Rivian is being accused of patent infringement...
  6. Key fob no longer standard?

How much can a FOB cost Rivian? It should be included even if many people rarely use them. For example I'll bet towing represents something like .001% of miles put on the average Rvian but that doesn't mean Rivian should remove towing capability because it's "rarely used".
  7. What is the height of the Rivian mobile service van?

Evidently he removed the air from his tires... Sorry couldn't resist, I'll let myself out.
  8. Taking Delivery Friday, sign contract beforehand?

@Riv_Green Congratulations on the new R1. Many very knowledgeable Rivian enthusiasts on this forum are happy to help with questions/concerns. Care to share details on what configuration your getting?
  9. So many legacy auto manufacturers walking back plans to electrify. Good or bad for Rivian?

I just read the entire article you linked and stand by my statement. If you can provide an example of government of any nation ever that is/was fully trustworthy. Then I'll sincerely apologize and amend my statement to say "All governments except (fill in the blank) are not to be trusted...
  10. So many legacy auto manufacturers walking back plans to electrify. Good or bad for Rivian?

All governments including ours are not to be trusted...full stop. Mistrust in government is well founded and it is blind trust that would be ignorant. That being said the path to EV adoption is becoming a superior product and price parity something I believe will happen in less than 50 years...
  11. The wait is getting really annoying

Most of us became Zen masters during the years long delivery wait... some of us cried when the delivery finally came. Personally I celebrate the delivery anniversary similar to a wedding anniversary or birthday celebration. Think of it like the excitement in anticipation of Christmas morning...
  12. Most efficient 20" tire?

I haven't heard any reviews of the Nokian One HT which comes in a 275 65 R20 (same as OEM 20" Perelli) and have a load rating of 3748# and speed rating 112. Anyone have review of these? I'm looking at getting a set if I can find a local tire shop that can get and install them with the 55K mile...
  13. I’ll move when I’m done. Sorrento at RAN Bishop

Easy solution; Pull in perpendicular facing driver side with R1 in highest and turn on high beams and proceed to plug in and charge with the front charge indicator bar enabled of coarse. I'll bet he would be "Done" rather quickly.
  14. How Many R1 Pre-order holders are still remaining ?

My understanding is that gen 1 ang gen 2 max packs are identical, aside from the frame assembly, and that the pack's ARE made in house in Normal. I've seen a brief clip of them being assembled. Rivian has even commented that the new gen 2 pack assemblies have substantially streamlined...

May 2022 delivery of vin 059XX R1T just got address verification email. I'll try to remember to update the thread with m y delivery date. I will say Rivian seems to be shipping faster than Ford, I got my order email from Ford back in April.
  16. Rivian advised me to not use my Tesla wall charger

There are several conditions I could think of that would cause a molded case thermal magnetic circuit breaker to melt without tripping. The first is that the amperage through the breaker is not sufficiently high enough to trip either the thermal overload but instead their is a loose or corroded...
  17. Rivian advised me to not use my Tesla wall charger

They are not technically wrong. An installation like what's shown could void the vehicle warranty. For all they know that installation replaced factory fasteners with 1/4"- 2" lag screws straight through the wire harness that runs behind the bad panel. search "customer states" on you tube and...
  18. Battery size: Gen 1 vs Gen 2

So I'm assuming a single bi-direction heat pump is used for cooling heating the cabin and for cooling the battery and an additional resistive heater for the battery only then? I will be curious to see a breakdown of how the thermal system on gen 2 operate. It is tricky since their are times...
  19. Battery size: Gen 1 vs Gen 2

I know a little off topic for this thread but I believe many people will be disappointed when they see the small marginal improvement from heat pump efficiency. I just hope the new heat pumps aren't loud as hell and put out tepid air when it's -10F. My current R1T is able to adequately heat the...
