I could have retired a few years ago but didnāt. I was less than a month from another retirement date a couple of years ago but didnāt, and now just a few weeks away from a final retirement date. Each delay afforded something not really equitable to time. š¤£.
ā¦but owning a Rivian that i want to...
Donāt feel bad my friend! You got something more precious - time! ā° š
PS: When i was your age, I was only able to participate in used Nissan Sentra forums. š¤£

i like it. Noise doesnāt bother me - I canāt tell any difference. I feel some vibration on the steering wheel at higher speed that DT and even the SC canāt seem to get rid of. ā¦but I donāt know if that should be expected of AT tires.
Itās CCS1. Maybe the tesla destination charger has been fitted with a J1772 adapter - that is the only way I could have plugged it in.
It was the Rivian timing out that i am trying to understand.
Itās like buying a laptop without the powerbrick. Also, a 100K+ car does not even have a charging adapter with it⦠or a spare tire (even donut tire) with it.
⦠but I get it! Gone were the days for customers expecting āmore value for your moneyā.
When i go on a road trip, i set my Gen 2 R1S to Tesla network ONLY. I plan my charging stops that way. Itās more predictable and more convenient for me than including RAN and EA. In a few locations, I use Chargepoint.
The Tesla destination charger does not appear on the rivian app, the Tesla app is able to pre authorize cc charge. The destination charger says itās āAvailable to the Publicā.
Thanks to those who attempted to make sense of my question. I got my NACS to J1772 adapter. I will test and update this...
Honestly, I am confused myself. The fact that the Destination Charger plugged, charging should have worked. I was just going by the error msg I saw on Rivianās screen. Itās a 2025 R1S. The Tesla say charger says itās open to all EVs (i.e., āOpen to the Publicā.
