This is described as a 2027 R2. So does it apply only to later vehicles with Lidar etc? The wording about the heat pump vs conventional AC on R2 Launch vehicles confuses me. Are Launch vehicles model year 2026?
The last time (of about 3 or 4 times in my life) I used valet parking, they took my older Ford Ranger but told me it would be parked offsite, so it would take a few minutes to retrieve when I wanted to pick it up. Yet there were plenty of MBās and and BMWās parked in front. That was about 30...
Yeah, Iām just surprised they used 5-20ās and not 5-15ās. Even if the upstream circuit can provide 20 Amps thereās not many loads that really need it. I canāt remember the last time I even saw something with a 5-20P plug.
In our gasoline pickup having 2-3 bikes in the bed with the forks over the tailgate is about 5% mpg hit. In our VW Golf with 2 bikes on the hitch rack (1Up) is about 10%. We havenāt taken many long trips with the pickup and the hitch rack but itās probably more than 5% hit. Obviously different...
Thanks, I wasnāt aware of this. $335-$600 for these ādefeatersā. Similar in principle to the airbag defeaters that van conversion builders use if they remove airbags in a passenger van converted to an RV.
I assume weāll find out soon, but does anyone know if the adaptive shocks are connected to any external sensors or inputs, or is the damping adjustment all internal? Iām sure they work well for a while but eventually Iād think replacing them with Bilstein/Fox/King etc conventional high end...
Iām in the target market and currently own three ICE vehicles, all 2015 or newer; one with 15ā and two with 16ā vehicles. I am running 65 profile tires on the 15ā rims (a Golf) and 75ās on the others, which are both 4WD with load range E AT tires. 19ā and 21ā wheels donāt belong on any AWD...
Hi, Iāve been mostly lurking here since I cancelled my pre-launch reservation for an R1T shortly after getting a test drive in late 2022. I loved the truck, but a combination of budget and concerns about the nearest Service Center being in South SF prompted me to pull the plug. But I do have an...
Iām not sure GPS or alarm will do much after thieves get familiar with them. Probably a single wire cut or just a smack on the stem mounted display unit could put that out of commission.
Thanks for posting. My wife and I rode the White Rim on mountain bikes about three years ago, on a supported tour, but I wouldnāt mind going back on four wheels. Question: do you think it would have been harder or easier going the other direction? Our tour companyās diesel Ford SuperDuty support...
Definitely yes. Pretty much every Bay Area county except SF has a lot of remote rural land with steep unpaved roads. Some private, some public land. And huge fire risk in summer through late fall. I think the R1T is very appropriate for this application ⦠more so than the typical domestic ICE...
I forgot to check when I got my drive a few days ago, but is there no 12V outlet in the bed? That seems like a huge no-no for an āadventure truckā. I donāt want to be forced to put my 12V battery and fridge in the cab, nor do I want to connect them to 110VAC though perhaps thatās not a big deal...
My Tacoma gets that dusty after just a short time on a high speed dirt road. Aftermarket tailgate gaskets, plus sealing other gaps helps. I donāt have one, but BedRug carpet kits also purportedly help seal the gaps well. Iām hoping that as the Rivian installed base grows, the pickup aftermarket...
Iām inclined to not order any tonneau and count on the aftermarket. I have a cheap ($200) soft rollup tonneau on my current truck and its versatility and effectiveness are great. I wish Rivian would allow access to the volume reserved for the retracted tonneau, so it could be used for storage...
Thanks for the comments. Just to be clear, Iām not ācurious about a tonneauā. I have a soft tonneau on my current truck and find it exceptionally useful and functional; best $200 accessory Iāve ever bought. @Yellow Buddy your experience sounds good. Dirt, gravel, goat feed, straw etc are the...
Iām not sure I understand the term ābed bounceā, as in my experience owning several pickups over the years Iāve never felt the bed itself bounce on its mounts. But if this refers to the entire rear end bouncing around on stiff suspension, especially with an unladen truck, I just took a test...
