I have, all Enphase equipment.
12KW in panels, IQ8's across all panels, a new 200/220 panel, and the sunlight backup opition, all installed last year. We can run our entire house and AC while the sun's out with ease (no batteries needed). The only thing we didn't backup is the 50A induction...
I have 12kW of solar and Enphase sunlight backup to run critical loads and my AC in the event of a brown/blackout. Enphase has a V2H offering, and we’re on the list for EA. However, if Rivian isn’t going to work with any system but their own, I guess I’ll have to look elsewhere.
Lots of promise...
7000lbs? that's nothing.
There are RV owners who flat tow 2500 and 3500 trucks weighing in at 9k to 14k lbs.
The vast majority of RV owners tow a Jeep wrangler.
This is not all inclusive, but does give you some insight into RV ownership.
Since you're not a RV person, you either tow another...
Jeep sold 229k wranglers in 2019 and 201k in 2020. I highly doubt that out of that many Jeeps, only 15 are towed behind an RV. I know they're not because we go to the desert and I see at least 15 jeeps behind motorhomes just on the trip out.
If Rivain makes the R1S and R1T flat towable, they...
If the R1S cannot be flat towed behind a motorhome, I'm not buying one.
Rivian, hope you're listening to this because from the posts I've seen, you've just lost $1M in sales combined from all the people who would have bought but changed their mind because you won't allow flat tow.
I've done a decent amount of manufacturing in my time as an engineer, but never automotive.
I would hope the Rivian team has implemented Kaizen lean manufacturing and is able to address issues on the fly...
I'm going to wait until Rivian has released the largest battery pack available for the R1S.
The wife's Honda Pilot Elite is getting to the 4 year mark and I was hoping to replace it this year with the R1S. However, this may not be a reality until 2022 with Rivian.
I am massively disappointed at the rear legroom. This is 9" less than my current truck has and my daughter is now just able to kick the back of my seat. With 9" less, she'll be able to hang her legs over the top of my seat and make me smell her toes....
How about a solid roof to keep the interior cool during the summer heat of the southwest?
I could care less about a panoramic roof that heats the interior of the vehicle enough to bake cookies like my E63 wagon.
