The plate thickness wouldn't be the weak point, it's the leverage at the bolt head. Unless the inboard tube is resting on the tub somehow, all the weight on it could rip out/shear the bolts or dent the tub. In other words, the 'slider' would be the strongest part, the body/bolts the weakest...
The first thing I said when I pulled out the camp speaker on the first mile drive was 'I can't believe this thing comes standard', and not in a good way. Love it, sharp design, will never use. They should've put a pull out drawer there (cup holders?) and had the speaker in the gear shop.
And...
Again, trying to avoid a hitch rack. The vehicle will be used for short/intown drives so no problem having it mounted all the time. Wouldn't want to leave a hitch mount on there all the time - also the garage is tight and I don't really have a place to store it.
I haven't yet come across much info/first-hand experience on a rooftop bike rack setup for an R1S - has anyone done this? Ive seen quite a bit on R1T bed setups, but Im wondering if the lifting height would be an issue on an S, esp with a heavy-ish mountain bike. (I have the Rivian racks, just...
I plan on taking both sides off, just another spot for dirt to collect. It already says what it is enough on it, doubt Iāll forget what Iām driving.
I signed that binding agreement a few months back, but wonāt get the S until ~Apr-Jun. Could I get the ā22 credit on my ā22 filing? Should I have clicked on that link first?
We had a first mile drive the other day and while overall we loved it (didn't have any of the QC issues you experienced), in all purpose mode "going up and down waves on a cushioned pontoon" is a great way to describe the ride. This was our only complaint.
Thinking about going the Stealth route - is it any harder to keep clean/looking good than gloss PPF? Weāll be getting our S dirty/muddy on a regular basis on the way to our cabin.
Rivian doesnāt have auto reprogramming for wheelsets?? On my cayenne You just tap the new wheel size on the settings screen and after ~10 min of driving over 15mph it recognizes the new size.
Ha, I posted this same question on a FB group and the 1st response was ātell me youāre new to EVs without telling me youāre new to EVsā so I deleted it, thought I asked some kind of taboo questionā¦guess it was just a dickhead. And yes, Iām new to EVs.
Canāt wait to put this kind of mileage on...
I was afraid this was going to be the case. Added heated Truck-lites to the Jeep and it solved the problem, but visibility was significantly degraded before. Highly unlikely Rivian will ever have a fix (or aftermarket) due to the headlights being tied into a larger unit.
Confirmed - I was originally Oct-Dec 22, then first half 2023, now Apr-June 23 (11/20 R1Srez date). A little further away than I was hoping but glad to be getting a 2023
