We have two 60amp circuits in the garage so we can charge at the same time if needed. Right now I just charge T/Th/Sat at night if needed and her car the rest of the days. We make sure they're plugged in during the day (both work from home) and I manual kick off / monitor the charge rate...
For JUST that, it's suppose to know your provider and ensure that your Rivian only charges during the cheapest time.
TOU isn't too crazy, just limit the large items in your house during that time, oven, AC, dryer (non heatpump or gas).
We're not as bad as others but our cheap time is 12cents...
I did notice that mine had a "Summer / Winter" setting. You MIGHT Need to go in and change when your power company changes time of year. Xcel (Colorado) changes back to Winter Oct 1st plus they're doing Peak power from 5pm - 9pm... 2hrs later start 2hrs later end, gotta make that money when...
The update is nice for the charging but I'd REALLY like something better than Off-peak Charging or Daily and Weekdays.
Ideal would be Custom - As I normally charge my car on certain days and my wife on other days. I'm actively working to automate all of this based off my excess solar...
Yep PIN to drive is the way for MFA.
Although I wouldn't be against using your phone as MFA for when you assign a PIN.
1st attempt, happy they have done something but hopefully the data says "a bit too much, let's make some adjustments"
Used - Rivian Wall Connector - Nothing wrong, changing over to a Wallbox Pulsar Plus for it's integration with Home Assistant and my solar system.
Local Pickup Only - Sorry it's bulky and I have zero desire to package up and ship.
Yes I reused a piece of paper my kids were using, it was easier...
Working on dynamic chargers based on incoming PV power / battery level.
22.8kW of solar and it freaking rips at this time of year, have been seeing a lot of 21.6kW of PV coming in.
Oversized garage++ also do yourself a favor and use 2 conduit runs to your EV chargers just in case something happens and it allows you to upgrade to higher capacity if needed. Conduit is dirt cheap.
If you're doing network closet or something do a conduit from there to attic, make it at least...
Ahhh ok that would check out since it changes to "dark mode" when I'm in the garage. I'll check later today to see if that's it.
I assumed it would just do it based off day/time to sunset/sunrise.
So I have the "day/night" lock sound selected on my Gen1 and Gen2, yet I ALWAYS get the owl sound. Morning, owl, afternoon, owl and event owl sound.
I thought the day/night setting was bird (day) and owl (night)
What did I mess up?
