This is something we should all think about. I for one am not sure how good moderation works. It's a fine line between moderation and censorship. Is probably a difficult job for whoever our moderators are.
I think you guys should go back to who I was originally responding.
My point was and always has been that Rivian does not need to be everywhere to start producing vehicles and that they will make their decisions on the completeness or incompleteness of their support network on their own. None...
You can substitute billions in for millions and my comment is the same. Hemorrhaging cash without incoming revenue is not sustainable. My point was to chill out as Rivian will be making decisions based on the P&L and investor expectations all while working to deliver a high quality vehicle.
Read "Buy our bike rack". The types of racks that will impede the sensors are hitch racks and tailgate racks/pads. Tesla has a similar "disclaimer" when using the hitch on the Y's and X's.
This is just not practical. You cannot spend millions without any revenue coming in to replenish the well. Would it have been better if Rivian refused orders from areas where they do not have coverage and don't plan to have it in the next few years? I look at it like that local pizza joint...

Tesla cars rarely go to a body shop for repairs when they have accidents that involve more than just body repairs. Many of the repairs, specifically, suspension and electrical repairs go through Tesla only. Body shops do not have the skillset nor do they want the liability of doing something...
Rivian could hedge their bets using an alternative method of renting garage space. Might be dealers or local garages that would be happy to provide "Space
Maybe from a maintenance perspective, you are right. However, from an accident perspective Rivian will need to have a solid support...
Based on those who have had a call, they have all said their guides told them that if they need to change anything in the configuration they should call their guides. This sounds like more of a confirmation than I have. Also they were given a window of when they might take delivery. I am sure...
I'll take a guide contact all day. That contact might not mean much to some of you, but to me it means a confirmed order and maybe a place in line. I am not looking for any additional information that I cannot check out on delivery. Still very excited about getting an R1T and hoping to be one...
