The current federal rebate already excludes foreign EVs. They have to be assembled in US and over 60% of critical battery minerals sourced from North America.
I don't like musk politics but California can't manufacture a good will climate change mitigation EV credit but exclude any manufacturer, let alone the largest seller here.
The only way for this to make sense through optics is not label it a climate change mitigation initiative and strictly a...
I'm not exactly sure it could be legal.
Besides, it's quite disingenuous to the mission purpose of incentivizing EVs.
Example:
" To increase total phone sales, we are going to offer $100 rebate on phones but excluding manufacturer's that sold more than XX million phones."
For optics, just...
I used it for well over a year until they took away the debit card.
I use the debit card on the Tesla Supercharger Network with my Tesla.
Easy 20% back. Plus they used to give you O2 points for your miles driven, but discontinue that as well.
Without the debit card, it doesn't seem like...
My OP did not imply any Rivian plans. I was simply bagging on Ford for doing this, and the flawed dealership model.
I too hope no EV does a no resale clause.
Evidence against the dealership model is in reference to Ford telling dealers not to mark up (above customary ADM). The dealers have and still will do it, Ford is attempting to stop $30k mark ups but alas, customers are still screwed.

Customers may not be able to sell their trucks in the first year.
I'm split on the no-resale provision. On face value it...
Oh competition is of course the best for consumers. Certainly the Hummers crab walk influenced the CT's new spec, as well as Rivian's tank turn. I hope they all compete with each other giving us all better EVs all the time.
We can only imagine what the final will be like.
Some might not know...
