He's old. Not like these newer age commentators that tend to blow things waay out of proportions -
"What do you mean it doesn't have a drain plug? ERHMAHGAWD, YOUR CAR IS GARBAGE! This won't make it around the corner!! How can you not put in a ... oh, there's the plug." ?
Several people will understand this and not fret. A good chunk of other people won't no matter how much mathematically (or logically) you prove to them.
In my youth I recall an older person giving me this advice: "Keep invoking the devil and eventually you'll summon him". Careful what anyone indirectly/subconsciously asks for ...
Because people in general are scht00pid. They rather have and not need, than need and never face wanting it. Give someone the option of 400 miles vs. 1k miles and most will consider the 1k miles just cause it's available and lessens range anxiety (key word here, a n x i e t y).
There are issues with some of the features you're bringing up (1 or 2 are personal).
retracting glass - could you elaborate further on what exactly your mean here as I do not want to misinterpret what glass specifically you speak of.
rear steering - this can and will likely cause a an issue...
"... that haven't come forth to the public en masse."
(there, fixed that for you).
They may be low in count, but non-employee deliveries have occurred. That the majority of them haven't stepped forward to declare should be of no surprise to anyone (many of us treasure our privacy. So, GET OFF...
It's a legit concern. I mean, the early adopters of Tesla faced the same dilemma when the company first released their initial Roadster. No one knew what Tesla's future had in store. Rivian has it even more difficult as they not only dropped the gauntlet regarding the R1's, but that a few...
That or realize that one is driving a VERY heavy vehicle with an absurd amount of HP & Torque, so one takes it easy, growing accustomed to the power at your pedal vs having software to 'hold your hands'. Radical concept, yes I know ;)
Right on their website. https://rivian.com/gear-shop/p/gear-tunnel-shuttle
Here's a pic. There are also TY vids that feature this in use as the leg is being pulled out and its height being adjusted.
Agreed. Accidents will still continue to happen regardless of whatever safety features a vehicle may have. I do understand people wanting to know the real reason why the accident happened. Alas, at this point in time it won't come to light unless someone that is aware of what truly transpired...
That one we are aware of to be user error. My point was this isn't the first accident with a Rivian.
Were you there? Did you take first hand report of it? Because if you weren't, you're back to speculating again ?
I'll re-add to your repeated statement - No one at this time knows, or has come forth with a definitive answer to, the reason why the vehicle exited the freeway at such high speeds. It could be user error, it could be something else. It's ALL speculative at this time.
