I received my plates and registration directly from the State of Illinois yesterday. It was only about 6 weeks after taking delivery of the truck. I guess with the factory in Illinois, they don't need to use a 3rd party. I'm still waiting on the title.

I did a factory pickup and it was an awesome experience ! Everyone was helpful and friendly. I didn't have any issues with the truck.

I found a handy little canvas bag that fits the center console storage bin. It has a couple of pockets and a strap. It works great for the small stuff that would otherwise be hard to get out.

Adding to the logistics problems is the shortage of truck drivers. A lot of the trucking companies are offering $100,000 salaries for drivers. I think they should ship by train for the longer distances, like the west coast.

Finally, some progress ! I just got a call from my guide (2nd call) to confirm (again) my configuration. I received the PBA within a few minutes after talking with him. Now I'm waiting for the 8 step process to show up in my account.
