Just to add some data and stir the pot, here's what 24 hours looks like on our R1T PDMM, unplugged at a moderate SOC, no GG or proximity locking:
I presume a good chunk of that is the system waking up to recharge the pathetically small 12v battery. I've actually got a Ohmmu Li-ion replacement...
I literally had a loose screw (ha ha, no really) inside the driver's side rear door of my R1T as delivered. You could shake the door and hear the little f*cker rolling around inside. Mobile tech service fixed it easy peasy, but that being said taking off the door cards isn't THAT hard to do if...
We don't pull our Dometic cooler out...yes we have a battery if we really needed to but, if it's out of sight, and not smelly (which a proper electric refrigerator down in the 30s should not be), it's really hard for me to imagine a Bear's spidy sense would make it a target.
Damn that sucks...some states do have 'cool down period' laws which allow you to bail out of contracts a day or two after signing them, so you might want to google that for your state ASAP if you're thinking to do so.
Yeah there's ways to communicate/show this information better.
Like, when I first got my R1T it hurt my brain that the NAV would say, let's say 100 miles to destination and 50 remaining when I'll arrive, yet the dash would say 200 miles of 'range' available lol. Does not add up, does not...
Odd, Tesla is pretty universally derided for having inflated EPA range numbers compared to other manufacturers, but maybe it's the devil you know...

I think Rivian does deserve a little heat here...a normal person might easily hop in a vehicle and look at the range number on the dash and expect to be able to drive ballpark that range at reasonable highway speeds and off they go. Enabling NAV to your destination shouldn't be REQUIRED.
EPA...
FWIW, you don't need a premium ABRP account to connect to your Rivian account and build a dynamic reference consumption number (and also reference speed number). You need it to see and do other 'real time data' kinda things, weather/traffic etc, but not reference consumption.
FWIW I just went the other direction, down to 26lb wheels from 38, and the difference is huge.
Steering feels lighter, suspension soaks up broken pavement noticeably better, and efficiency is certainly better (sorry, no solid Apples to Apples comparison data to share yet). Even in a 7000...
Do you use cruise control on road trips?
If not, then turning down regen so you can more easily coast may help a little bit.
If you do, then it will do nothing at all.
Some manufacturers over sell, some under, in the grand scheme of things Rivian ranks as pretty accurate: https://www.consumerreports.org/cars/hybrids-evs/real-world-ev-range-tests-models-that-beat-epa-estimates-a1103288135
"My next stop was exactly 248 miles, I drove at mostly 75ish mph, hit...
EPA/"Rated" miles are simply not 75MPH on the freeway miles. Sorry if that seems misleading on Rivian's part, but the EPA test is not rocking along a highway at that speed.
The range shown on the dashboard are 'rated' miles, while if you navigate to your destination, the 'miles remaining on...
Good question, I know the 12v feed on the trailer hitch wiring stays hot, but no idea about the 12v "accessory" plug in the gear tunnel (never use it, that's where our Thunderbolt camp kitchen lives) or other 12v plugs that early R1s had (Frunk?).
So one of the things I did not expect, was these AWZZ's impact on ride quality. I can totally feel the change in unsprung mass (suspension is noticeably more compliant over broken pavement) as well as rotational mass (steering feel is much lighter).
No idea how that will scale from 20s to 22s...
fwiw this is what having the power outlets on for a full 24 hours looks like with zero driving, nothing plugged into said outlets, midnight to midnight: 8.44kwh lost, or 1mph, or ~350w continuous draw, or 5.81% of my Max's SOC
OTOH, here's a 'normal' day, unplugged, no driving, no power...
Totally non-issue, didn't touch the friction brakes until the stop sign at the bottom when it rejoins the main road. Footage was boring so it didn't make the cut :p
