The rim damage is really just cosmetic - but Iāll admit it, I want my truck to look perfect⦠just who I am. The wheel will go into the spare tire hole, and the spare will come out, and itāll be all good.
As for the scratches - I think that the scratches are one issue, but I also ābrokeā the...
Those were my exact words⦠I was frustrated for a while, but they got out of the entire situation and got home safe⦠and thatās what matters. To their credit, they sent me some money as well as a thank you - which they really didnāt have to do. So itās all good.
Ok, writing this up on my phone - so forgive the brevity. Short story.. we took a snowy drive in South Lake Tahoe to Lower Echo Lake. I stopped short of driving down the last section of the trail because it seemed like a bad idea. Then while walking down to the lake, we found a stuck Subaru with...
Yup, mine came off the line probably a few hours before yours apparently! :) When you talk to Rivian about it, push hard that you need a 12V hard-reset right away, and that you want the TCM data "gathered" (scanned, whatever they wanna call it) so that if they determine the TCM needs...
@Flyingscot,
It sounds like you have the (ok, "my") dreaded "TCM" issue. My vehicle (VIN ~2400) had this issue several times, and ultimately it required Rivian replacing the "TCM" unit. Here's what I know:
The "TCM" (also referred to as a TCU) is the "transmission (not like a normal car)...
I had mine replaced under waranty (a chip detected during the initial delivery of the vehicle) - and I also have an employee friend going through the āpaidā process now (big crack from some gravel). My friends price (perhaps an employee price, not sure) is around $1600-1700. For my car, it was...
For what it's worth, I also did 4 AWG wire rather than 6.. I was also able to make it fit just fine, but as a backup you can always just cut a few of the individual strands off of the final inserted bundle if you need to.
4AWG will allow me to use an 80A circuit in the future when chargers/cars...
Yup, thatās the fire I thought you were talking about. We were camping in Big Sur when we got the messages about the fire. Glad everything is OK up there. We regularly hang out at our friends house on Paradiseā¦
keep an eye out for my LG truck.. Iām around. ;)
Out of curiosity - (roughly) where do you live? There was a fire near our house on the same days you posted⦠Weāre in Redwood City, where a number of other R1T owners (employees mostly) live.
I spoke with a service rep about PPF on these a while back and he mentioned that the early builds had this PPF on the bottom side of the doors. It was apparently removed because as dirt/water come down the door, it would collect at the top edge of the PPF and become super visible.
He did...
Thanks for the response.. my feeling was to do the last charge shortly before we leave. I will note that Iāve seen a few articles that say ādonāt unplug and go, give the car an hour or two to cool downā after charging up that far. Their premise is that you donāt want to leave with a hot battery...
If your going on a road trip where you plan to charge to 100%, Iām curious if itās better to do the final charge (85->100) right before you leave⦠or better to more slowly charge up the night before?
In both cases Iām talking about AC charging⦠but Iām talking about whether itās better to...
awesome news, thanks for sharing! How did it work over the course of the nightā¦any issues? Iāve ordered my adapter now based on your experience, so thanks a ton!
So I was willing to try to do that - but I havenāt yet found a non-Rivian EVSE charger that claims it will support that. Do you have any you know of?

Ok.. so fundamentally I understand you canāt get 240v out of a 120v plug. I get that. So what exactly happens if you plug the Rivian 14-50P plug into this adapter Dr a campground with a 30A TT-30P plug?
We just came back...
