  1. Bumper/Wheel Damage while recovering a stuck Subaru. Rivian replacing R1T bumper for $750

The rim damage is really just cosmetic - but I’ll admit it, I want my truck to look perfect… just who I am. The wheel will go into the spare tire hole, and the spare will come out, and it’ll be all good. As for the scratches - I think that the scratches are one issue, but I also ā€œbrokeā€ the...
  2. Bumper/Wheel Damage while recovering a stuck Subaru. Rivian replacing R1T bumper for $750

Those were my exact words… I was frustrated for a while, but they got out of the entire situation and got home safe… and that’s what matters. To their credit, they sent me some money as well as a thank you - which they really didn’t have to do. So it’s all good.
  3. Bumper/Wheel Damage while recovering a stuck Subaru. Rivian replacing R1T bumper for $750

My wife took a video , but I can’t upload it here.. but here’s the link.
  4. Bumper/Wheel Damage while recovering a stuck Subaru. Rivian replacing R1T bumper for $750

Ok, writing this up on my phone - so forgive the brevity. Short story.. we took a snowy drive in South Lake Tahoe to Lower Echo Lake. I stopped short of driving down the last section of the trail because it seemed like a bad idea. Then while walking down to the lake, we found a stuck Subaru with...
  5. PPF Shop recommendations around Menlo Park / Redwood City

SS Customs in RWC… they’ve done a bunch of R1T’s now, including mine.
  6. Lte, gps, wifi are offline, and hard reset doesn’t work.

Yup, mine came off the line probably a few hours before yours apparently! :) When you talk to Rivian about it, push hard that you need a 12V hard-reset right away, and that you want the TCM data "gathered" (scanned, whatever they wanna call it) so that if they determine the TCM needs...
  7. Lte, gps, wifi are offline, and hard reset doesn’t work.

@Flyingscot, It sounds like you have the (ok, "my") dreaded "TCM" issue. My vehicle (VIN ~2400) had this issue several times, and ultimately it required Rivian replacing the "TCM" unit. Here's what I know: The "TCM" (also referred to as a TCU) is the "transmission (not like a normal car)...
  8. Has anyone needed to replace a cracked windshield?

I had mine replaced under waranty (a chip detected during the initial delivery of the vehicle) - and I also have an employee friend going through the ā€œpaidā€ process now (big crack from some gravel). My friends price (perhaps an employee price, not sure) is around $1600-1700. For my car, it was...
  9. Rivian EVSE and 4 AWG

For what it's worth, I also did 4 AWG wire rather than 6.. I was also able to make it fit just fine, but as a backup you can always just cut a few of the individual strands off of the final inserted bundle if you need to. 4AWG will allow me to use an 80A circuit in the future when chargers/cars...
  10. Custom Cab High Crossbars

Yup, I’d buy these in a heartbeat. We want to use a bigger roof top tent, and this would solve it for us… so count me In!
  11. Working Magsafe / Magnetic Qi Wireless Charging Pad Install! - DIY Writeup

Please count me in - and I am happy to make sure you make a little money on these! Im sure whatever you price it at will be reasonable.
  12. 1st fire of the season and power outage - Rivian to the rescue (powering fridge, router, hot water heater)

Yup, that’s the fire I thought you were talking about. We were camping in Big Sur when we got the messages about the fire. Glad everything is OK up there. We regularly hang out at our friends house on Paradise… keep an eye out for my LG truck.. I’m around. ;)
  13. 1st fire of the season and power outage - Rivian to the rescue (powering fridge, router, hot water heater)

Out of curiosity - (roughly) where do you live? There was a fire near our house on the same days you posted… We’re in Redwood City, where a number of other R1T owners (employees mostly) live.
  14. PPF Difference on Early Production VIN 213

I spoke with a service rep about PPF on these a while back and he mentioned that the early builds had this PPF on the bottom side of the doors. It was apparently removed because as dirt/water come down the door, it would collect at the top edge of the PPF and become super visible. He did...
  15. Charging to 100% … better to do it right before you leave?

Thanks for the response.. my feeling was to do the last charge shortly before we leave. I will note that I’ve seen a few articles that say ā€œdon’t unplug and go, give the car an hour or two to cool downā€ after charging up that far. Their premise is that you don’t want to leave with a hot battery...
  16. Charging to 100% … better to do it right before you leave?

If your going on a road trip where you plan to charge to 100%, I’m curious if it’s better to do the final charge (85->100) right before you leave… or better to more slowly charge up the night before? In both cases I’m talking about AC charging… but I’m talking about whether it’s better to...
  17. TT—30P (120v) to 14-50P (240v) adapter?

Thanks.. I’m camping now and my adapter also wouldn’t let the charger power up off the TT-30R outlet. :( ill try the one you linked….
  18. TT—30P (120v) to 14-50P (240v) adapter?

awesome news, thanks for sharing! How did it work over the course of the night…any issues? I’ve ordered my adapter now based on your experience, so thanks a ton!
  19. TT—30P (120v) to 14-50P (240v) adapter?

So I was willing to try to do that - but I havenā€˜t yet found a non-Rivian EVSE charger that claims it will support that. Do you have any you know of?
  20. TT—30P (120v) to 14-50P (240v) adapter?

https://www.evseadapters.com/products/tt-30p-to-nema-14-50r-ev-adapter/ Ok.. so fundamentally I understand you can’t get 240v out of a 120v plug. I get that. So what exactly happens if you plug the Rivian 14-50P plug into this adapter Dr a campground with a 30A TT-30P plug? We just came back...
