I had no idea the vehicle didn't have AA/CP nor any form of support for texting. I simply assumed it had this since all new cars do so. I also didn't check to see if it had power windows, etc, etc. Obviously this is on me but the BS Rivian response that they CAN provide a better system is crap.
I tried it and the same choppy BT connection is present. I also didn't like the placement below the center screen because it is obscured by drinks placed in cupholders.
After scrolling through all of the center screen menus I think a phone mounted in the middle of the screen will get the job...
Does Rivian portable charger work on other EV's? Rivian's Gear Shop website says "Compatible with most EV's" while the owner's manual says "The Portable Charger works with Rivian vehicles only. Don't use the Portable Charger for any other purpose or to charge any other vehicles".

I can't understand what the problem is here. To have, on the main screen, real time odometer and efficiency information you would have to delete the little cartoon of vehicles in front of you. Then we would have to look out the windscreen to see if there are vehicles in front!
Rivian emailed me a survey link regarding my ownership experience. About 50% of the questions were directly related to the Infotainment/AA/CarPlay or whatever you want to call it. This tells me for sure they are feeling the heat from dissatisfied owners and are considering a change in strategy...
Twice now my truck didn't lock or shut down after I walked away. I then discovered the phone app is locked. I never knew this occurred until I returned to the vehicle.
I really like the idea of the double press on the PARK button as a shut down method.
I am still befuddled that Rivian has chosen to use their own navigation/phone control system and that many here defend it because it either CAN be developed to be better than Android Auto/CarPlay or that Rivian will somehow find a way to make more money with their proprietary system. Currently...
