  1. Info From RJ's Fireside Chat on June 2nd (w/ mention of LFP batteries)

Their performance isn't *great* for cold weather. But it's just like the NMC battery -- after it gets up to temp, it'll be a normal LFP battery. So, preconditioning does wonders. And thankfully, Rivian has implemented preconditioning while routing to DCFCs. Additionally, from Bjorn's test...
  2. Info From RJ's Fireside Chat on June 2nd (w/ mention of LFP batteries)

In-house designed motors allow savings by controlling every aspect of integration. Vertical integration has more benefits than just control over ECUs and the like.
  3. Info From RJ's Fireside Chat on June 2nd (w/ mention of LFP batteries)

If LFP is shipping, Dual Motor (which is Enduro motor, as they've stated) is also shipping. Wouldn't surprise me to be able to construct dual/quad on the same line if they're using the same drivetrain just with the different number. This will all be assembled long before it gets to general...
  4. Info From RJ's Fireside Chat on June 2nd (w/ mention of LFP batteries)

It's generally okay to charge to 100% for LFP. They do not degrade at such a high charge percentage the same as NMC.
  5. Info From RJ's Fireside Chat on June 2nd (w/ mention of LFP batteries)

It’s why I optioned it this morning. they can be used with DCFC! Basing my info off Tesla’s LFP packs, the charge is close but slightly less peak and slightly slower in the first half of the charge. But holds a strong kw deeper into the pack. Tesla also doesn’t limit regen at 100% for LFP...
  6. Info From RJ's Fireside Chat on June 2nd (w/ mention of LFP batteries)

I actually just realized… since you can’t configure LFP with quad motor, that means dual motor is also slated for early next year.
  7. Info From RJ's Fireside Chat on June 2nd (w/ mention of LFP batteries)

So, I don't know who needs to hear this but he said something very important during this fireside chat. LFP battery packs will begin shipping for consumer vehicles early next year. That's roughly a year ahead of their 2024 timing on the website! They're also incredibly bullish on LFP. I don't...
  8. Switched to Adventure Package - Delivery Window?

And the fact that Rivian won't let you configure quad with Standard Pack. :( I'd 100% do it if I could just because I want the 0-60 time. But it's probably best for my wallet (both upfront and tire costs) that I can't.
  9. Switched to Adventure Package - Delivery Window?

I went from Adventure/White/BM/Quad Motor/Large Pack down to Adventure/White/BM/Dual Motor/Standard pack this morning. After weighing all the pros/cons of LFP, and accepting that my chance of delivery was small anyways... and guessing a 5s 0-60 on LFP w/ dual motor... I think the cost savings...

I'll take you up on that. I'll buy you lunch/drinks/dinner if you want. I don't want to be a pest. Just a short trip in the passenger seat to let me feel comfort and maybe a quick 0-60 pull if (safely) possible?
  12. Rivian Charging Station in Salida, CO is Under Construction

If no one has anything in the works, I'm tempted to start it. I need a project while I wait for my truck anyways...
  13. Anyone sticking with R1T Explore Package?

That’s how I understand it as well
  14. Anyone sticking with R1T Explore Package?

I don’t think it’s going to be disabled. I think you’ll just be responsible for getting the cable if that’s what you want.
  15. Anyone sticking with R1T Explore Package?

As a whole, they're definitely my favorite looking car of all time. And like I said, I do like the yellow accents, but they're not necessary and just not worth it. I want the improved sound, but again, I just can't justify $5K just for the sound. Keeping it sub $80,000 is important to me (the...
  16. Anyone sticking with R1T Explore Package?

I honestly prefer the non-wood interior finish. Wood is impossible to fix. If it gets dented, scratched, etc. that's it. Interior accents are cool but completely superfluous. The ventilated seats would be neat, but I can't justify $5k for them when preconditioning the cabin is an option. And...
  17. Anyone sticking with R1T Explore Package?

For what it’s worth, I asked CS earlier last week and the rep said gear guard comes on all R1 vehicles, regardless of trim.

Rumors were floating around but nothing concrete has come up. The closest EA is in Rocky Mount. About 50 mins towards Raleigh. :(
