I would not be surprised if they deliberately put me further back in the queue because the 3 hour drive each way to deliver my truck would burn the entire day for the delivery employee, expecting that I would opt to make the trip instead. They were right.
I'm driving up from the Raleigh area tomorrow to pick mine up. They told me it would be mid June before they could deliver it to me, or I could drive up on Saturday to get it. That was not a hard decision.

My delivery saga is almost at an end! The service center folks contacted me today and told me that they could schedule my home delivery in mid-June or ... I could drive 3 hours to Richmond, VA and pick it up on Saturday.

Almost the same thing happened to me last week. I only got through the first 7 steps, but Rivian has had my $80k since the 5th. I added it to my insurance, have the signed and counter-signed purchase agreement, and so on.

Spoke with my guide today. She confirmed that the shipment that my truck was in on the way to the service center got turned around and sent back to Normal for an unidentified issue. No idea if my truck actually had the issue or not, or how long it will take to be fixed.
