  1. R1T Max Pack + Dual Motor range update from Rivian: 335, 360 and 400 miles range

The HP ratings in these cases are generally a byproduct of the low-end torque these motors produce. We’re really buying torque, not horsepower. Torque is for acceleration. Horsepower is for top speed. I’m sure everyone is clear on the torque VS HP subject now.
  2. Bungee Cords, Straps, Rope, Oh My! (tying down loads in the bed)

Seconding all the “ratchet strap“ answers. A 4-pack will take care of 99.9% of anyone’s random needs.
  3. Any ideas for truck bed fishing rod holder?

How about a bicycle tailgate pad with the Velcro tie-down straps? I can see two rods per tie-down. When I travel with my rods and don’t need to leave the reels on I use a large-diameter pvc pipe that I’ve capped to keep the tips safe.
  4. Questions on Long Term Parking at ORD

https://www.oharepersonalvalet.com/ google’s an amazing thing. ;) This might be cost-prohibitive for the length of your trip, but I think this is the sort of solution you might want to pursue. Apologies for “chops busting” re: using google. I’d want someone to be able to mind my R1 and make sure...
  5. Roof Rack + MTB ?

We had to go roof rack on my wife’s I-Pace. Our solution is a tall folding step stool to toss in the back. Having a helping hand around also goes a long way so you don’t need to climb the steps while holding the bike.
  6. Minnesota Pre Orders

I appreciate the responses, thank you.
  7. Minnesota Pre Orders

Anyone out there willing to share their experience with their 21” tires this winter? Regrets? No big deal? I’m still waiting on a max pack but very on the fence regarding my tire choice. I tow either a boat or (large) pop-up camper to Voygeurs, Vermilion, Ely, or the North Shore several times a...
  8. Camper for the R1T -- what can I safely and reasonably tow?

Yes, that’s what I am referring to. It sounds like your family believes it wants a big trailer. As a wilderness camper (backpack/canoe) I see the canvas beds as an advantage. Someone else mentioned renting. Our neighbors do it once a year and I’m going to second the motion.
  9. Camper for the R1T -- what can I safely and reasonably tow?

Apologies, OP, if I missed someone else mentioning them, but have you looked into the world of expandable trailers? They look like a regular camper but set up with pop-up style beds. If we ever get rid of our Rockwood HW 24C, it will be for one of those.
  10. R1 Shop access with Max Pack Spec'd

“Anyone else get this?” Yes, months ago. Still waiting on my max pack for towing.
  11. Switch from R1S to R1T

I can’t help you guess, but anyone wanting to would need that info. Keep in mind there’s a term “Rivian Lottery” for a reason ?
  12. ? Estimated Delivery Date Window is LIVE! What’s Yours?! ?

I9m going to try to get in touch with my guide and see where a dual motor max pack would put me. Do I lose my price advantage? My spot in line? I’m looking at a 5+ year wait for being one of their earliest customers, having put a deposit on a planned 400 mi quad motor vehicle that has become...
  13. ⛔️ Powered Tonneau cover removed from R1T production until further notice on all future deliveries

“Keep dust off of it”? This advice about caring for the powered tonneau reminds me of the old SNL ad for Happy Fun Ball. ”Do not taunt the powered tonneau. Do not look directly at the powered tonneau…”
  14. ⛔️ Powered Tonneau cover removed from R1T production until further notice on all future deliveries

In numbers terms, this means that one could travel 310.8 miles rather than 300 using the same amount of energy, and that $100 of energy with the tonneau costs $103.60 without. Do with those numbers what you wish, I just wanted to put some perspective on the everyday impact to an owner.
  15. ⛔️ Powered Tonneau cover removed from R1T production until further notice on all future deliveries

I’ll bet two of my dollars to one of yours that tonneau is dealer installed, not factory installed.
  16. ⛔️ Powered Tonneau cover removed from R1T production until further notice on all future deliveries

All three tonneau covers I’ve owned force one to open the tailgate to open the cover. I’ve had the rack experience you’re describing. Whether or not you can slide out a panel with the rack on will depend on your exact bike rack setup and setback.
