  1. 39.1 OTA bugs (compressor, audio controls, etc.)

I think that is one side effect of the efforts they've been making on vampire drain. The truck goes into much deeper sleep states now, so everything takes longer to wake back up. So, that's the tradeoff and it's permanent.
  2. Low speed 'Tocking' when stopping or starting

So haven't poured through all 15 pages, but is the concern with this actually based on it indicating an issue? Or do people just not like the sound? With everything Rivian, I don't subscribe to the "other vehicles don't do this so it must be bad" mentality, because many things about it are novel...
  3. 39.1 OTA bugs (compressor, audio controls, etc.)

It fixed mine. You can try a soft reset and it may correct it.
  4. Max Pack delayed to 2024 according to configurator / email ?

Sure, just not a common job so didn't think about it at first. But also as I noted in another response, that extra range gets cut in half too, so then you're paying $10k for up to 50 miles of added range. If it's the difference in having to charge or not, then probably worth it. My main point...
  5. Max Pack delayed to 2024 according to configurator / email ?

Yeah, that's certainly one. Though that extra 100 miles only becomes 50 or less in those conditions. But I can see certain scenarios where that makes all the difference.
  6. Optima Overlanding Rivian R1T build teased for SEMA

I think the point is not to tow this trailer just for the extra battery/range, but rather tow this trailer instead of a Patriot or other brand trailer if you're going to be towing one already. You're not just getting the battery, you're getting other stuff that comes with a trailer (kitchen...
  7. Rivian is cutting it close on the range at arrival…

Not supposed to add up. The 150 on driver display does not account for the route particulars like elevation. What this tells me is that you were going downhill. 150 rated miles - 127 to go = 23 remaining if you achieved rated efficiency, but it projects 67 remaining. You had a pretty big...
  8. The moderator controls the content

Had the same thing, but went away, presumably with a sleep cycle. You can also just try a soft reset.
  9. Steering Wheel Shake at Highway Speeds

Mine mostly went away after 5-6k miles, as they said it should.
  10. Out of Spec R1S Review: "The Rivian R1S Has Arrived And We Answer All Of Your Questions!"

There is a very real difference between skipping in line and being invited to step to the front by the person administering the line as recognition that you should rightfully be treated more favorably than others in the same line. In any case, your perspective that there is a simple single file...
  11. Overlanding and the R1T

I'm fairly confident they will strive to add off road mapping functionality, but would not expect it to come in the form of direct interaction from your phone or laptop. Their philosophy is an integrated one or not at all. I think that will be a ways off though, and most people are going to run...
  12. Overlanding and the R1T

They have mentioned (informally through Reddit) that one idea/vision they have is for a crowd/owner sourced off roading maps/POI feature, but that's it. Garmin uses the same underlying map/data source, so there's at least that. Also entirely possible that anything developed there is part of the...
  13. Jebinc’s rubber bed liner mod

I'm really interested to know whether a liner/mat like this cuts down on dust in the bed. I know that it suffers from the typical intrusion through the seams in tailgate like any truck, but what I want to know is if that is all I have to account for in dust sealing, or if it's all of the...
  14. Any activity in the Austin, TX area?

The entire I35 corridor is Driver+ (outside of intermittent stretches of construction or things like that). The following are others that are included currently: Mopac (entire stretch) 183 (basically entire in the metro area) 290/Ben White (mostly between Oak Hill and perhaps 183 connection...
  15. Max Pack delayed to 2024 according to configurator / email ?

Definitely. Those three things are by far the most expensive parts of the product, and in house will almost always be cheaper than outsourcing (you just have to have the scale).
  16. Max Pack delayed to 2024 according to configurator / email ?

They've been clear that all motors will be in house ASAP. They don't want to rely on suppliers for any key components, which are the three key competitive advantages of a EV company - battery, powertrain and software.
  17. Max Pack delayed to 2024 according to configurator / email ?

All quad max's are scheduled for 2024. Dual Max is slated to being Summer 2023. I would expect that once all vehicles are on in house motors, they will have the invertor design that makes the most sense. What Munro failed to pick up on is that Tesla does not have a quad motor setup, so the only...
  18. ? Estimated Delivery Date Window is LIVE! What’s Yours?! ?

It's only a 12 month window right now, and will become a more narrow one in a future update. It's better than a we don't know, because you just need to know it's not imminent at this point. I think you can probably assume it's 1H 2024 at this point, but you never know and things are always fluid.
  19. Max Pack delayed to 2024 according to configurator / email ?

They are planning for in house dual motors to start production/delivery Summer 2023, as of today's delivery windows. They have stated that they want all vehicles to have in house motors ASAP. The in house batteries are further out, and will be part of the GA plant, or somewhere else if that...
  20. 39.1 OTA bugs (compressor, audio controls, etc.)

Release notes are identical to .1, so unnamed bug squashes (though presumably not the one we want). So, seems like we're waiting for something after .3.
